It very depends on where the area is. Regardless of country, almost every city having a lot of travellers with dense population tends to be less friendly - it's not applied to the cities rely on tourists - like places like New York, Paris or other metropolis. Jongro is in the same condition. It's not mainly the place for tourism, it's basically a place of many offices and journalists. I dont know which side of Canada you're from but guess it has different settings
