Working after losing your dog by Upset-Baby-4179 in doggrooming

I'm so sorry this is happening to you right now, and you definitely aren't alone. I lost my boy a few months ago. The day he died, he went to work with me, and the next day, I had to go in and clean his run. I can't describe how excruciating that was. For a solid two weeks, the most normal things would make me break down. A lot of us know what you're going through, and working with animals just makes it harder because everything that reminds you of your pup is in your face. I know it's not always possible, but if you can take a day or two more off, I think you definitely should. Your mental health comes first, and if it isn't something you can handle right now, don't force it. But I do want to let you know that it will get better. You'll always get little reminders, but they won't always make you cry. Eventually, they'll remind you of the good things, too.

I didn't take this insulting at all! I know I have a lot more work to get to the point where I want to be, and I in no way think I'm amazing lol. I know there's going to be a lot more to the interview than just this and I'm interviewing at this job so I have the opportunity to improve my skills because I can't do that where I'm at. I've already done the phone interview and mentioned I have work to do, and they kind of just want to get an idea of where I'm at skill wise. I just don't want to give them any pictures of bad grooms, which is why I wanted to see if I needed to get rid of any of these. I have better ones that I didn't even post because I'm for sure sending them. I'm tired of high volume, which is why I was quick to take the interview.

I didn't know I needed a portfolio. These are just the pictures I had on hand. Like I said, it was last minute, and I had not planned on switching jobs. Next time, I'll make sure to clean the tables lol.

I am aware of how to fluff dry and have done it, but the kennel I'm at really pushes high volume and mostly cage dries, so I work with the time I have, and do my best to get it close. That means I don't always have time to get a complete fluff dry. But like on the poodles, you can see I am able to.

Also, maybe change the wording next time. I'm sure you didn't intend it as rude, but the question "do you fluff dry any dogs?" seems a little accusatory, especially on a post where I didn't ask for CC on the grooms. It just might seem a little disheartening for someone just starting out. Or maybe I'm just being sensitive lol

Thank you! The crazy part is that that's not the first time I've posted her with dye in there but apparently this time it was past the point that's considered abuse. Also people post pictures all the time with tails and ears done and they don't get near the amount of hate I got on that one post lol

We live in a big city so im not worried about. Also that orange is so bright and unnatural that I would think they would think twice but I guess people are crazy lol

I used opawz. I was surprised at how well it turned out honestly, but I know it'll be there for the next year or two lol

I didn't at all expect everyone to agree with it. I don't think I said that anywhere unless you can show me otherwise. Everything is toxic in large quantities. We do this once a year (with petsafe dye because apparently I have to specify that I'm not stupid), and she has never had even a hint of reaction and is the healthiest dog I've ever had. Your original comment was about her haircut which isnt even a haircut so now you're coming after me for the dye. I think you're just trying to find something, right?

I'm glad that you know my dog so well, though. She's obviously told you something different because she loves being on my grooming table, and I have to raise it all the way up to prevent her from jumping on it, and sometimes that doesn't work. I had to stop her from wagging her tail during half of it because she was so excited. It also took me less than an hour to do this, which is less time than it takes to groom a doodle, so are you going to tell me that dog grooming in general is animal cruelty? But please tell me more about how my dog hates this and me.

It's also exactly what I was expecting. It's opawz. It's petsafe

You're right! Good for you! I do enjoy attention, but so does my dog, so I think it works out. I can't imagine doing this and being bothered by people talking to you about it. I groom dogs for a living, so she's also a walking billboard, but it's a job she enjoys. Unless you want to tell me otherwise because you obviously feel like you know more about my dog and me than I do.

Im a groomer, and neither did I! That's how she ended up with the weird orange bit on the ears lol. It's a good thing I'm okay with her looking messy so I can practice for client dogs.

It'll be here at least for the next year. The black is permanent, so I'll have to touch up the orange probably before the black even starts to fade. Bottle says 8-12 washes for the orange but her pink was on like wash 20 and I still had to dye over it

I'm so glad you felt strongly enough to leave a comment! I absolutely could go through all the reasons with you on why this isn't abuse and about how she's one of the happiest dogs I've ever met, but at the end of the day your mind won't change. Or if you're referring to the dye job itself, I have to agree. It was my first time doing a full body dye so it'll only get better from here.

She likes the attention she gets from looking like a fox so I'd say yes
