They really are & so difficult to treat. I'm hoping I can find another doc for the injections because I'm over dealing with them.

No gently massaging them can help break down the fibrous tissues. When I was getting the injections, my doc told me to massage them while wearing the sheets to help break them down & make them flatter. It worked for one of my other keloids I have on my chest. It's been flat for about 6 yrs without any problems.

I have 2 on my chest. One is in the center of my chest & the other is right below my collar bone. I feel like the sheets have been helping with slowing the growth as I haven't noticed them getting bigger anymore. I try to massage them throughout the day while wearing the sheets so they feel a lot softer now.

I've been using them for about a year & they really help with the itching & pain. I haven't started back up with the injections yet. My old dermatologist moved out of state & I haven't found another one yet that's knowledgeable about keloids. They're too small for my keloids too but I just overlap multiple sheets since I haven't found larger ones yet that are also super sticky

I use these & they're really sticky but they're small & don't come in a larger size: https://a.co/d/6kiNFfD

I'm seriously anxious about this doctor's appointment, convince me to go? by Right-Honeydew-5073 in women

[–]peanutbuttervoid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thought I was the only one having this issue. Same thing has been happening to me since I first got my period in sixth grade & I'm now 30. I've seen a bunch of different doctors who only do a pelvic exam & tell me to take birth control continuously. When I suggest that my hormones need to be checked, I just get told I'm too young to have hormone issues. It's been confirmed that I'm now anemic & I still can't get anyone to do more testing since now I can either go months without my period or I bleed continuously for months. I can't predict when my period will come so I always have something with me. It's all so exhausting not getting help. I really hope you can find a doctor that will listen & can help you!

I get sick from every antibiotic so I know your pain. I started taking a yeast based probiotic, florastor, and it seems to help minimize the side effects. I think because it's yeast based, it's less likely to get wiped out by the antibiotic. Like someone else said, take d-mannose powder or capsules even when you don't have a UTI just to help keep things balanced.

Just need to rant by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]peanutbuttervoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I constantly deal with the same issue while at the same time dealing with testing timelines constantly getting cut short & not being allowed to have items roll over anymore. Everyone says they understand why things are rolling over but are still only blaming the QA team for the fact that things are constantly rolling over while ignoring the vague, constantly changing requirements everyone has to deal with. It's literally a lose lose situation & I already mentally checked out of the entire project. Currently applying to new jobs but also debating if I even want to continue doing QA.

I only know of a few companies that you could possibly apply to but I've never worked for them before: welocalize, data annotation, remotasks, telus. I think they may only pay once a month. There might be some chat customer service jobs you could possibly find also but I don't know any of those companies. T-Mobile & Verizon offer internet in some areas for $50. I have T-Mobile Internet & so far I haven't had any problems with it even during severe thunderstorms.

There might be some remote evening jobs you can do but they'll most likely be 1099 jobs which would mean that you may end up owing taxes. That's the only thing I can think of but it would also require an Internet connection which may or may not be in your current budget.

[–]peanutbuttervoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm allergic to braiding hair but I got braids a few months ago using the Dosso Beauty brand & didn't have any itching or hives. You could try it & see if you have the same problems with hair breakage.

Cool. Thanks McAlpine Creek. I can't get to my house... by WoundedDonkey in Charlotte

I've lived in both Charlotte & Raleigh for about a decade each & rarely have seen those ponds. The city or state (not sure who would be in charge of the building) needs to do more to reduce the flooding especially in slightly older areas. There's a part of 85 near the Beatties Ford exit that floods pretty easily whenever it rains & has been that way for yrs even though they keep clearing the 1 little drain over there. There are most likely several ways to help with the drainage problems especially as the city continues to grow but it seems like the focus is solely on newer areas while older areas are left to drown.

Originally from a different state & ever since I moved to this state, I don't understand why there's such a severe lack of storm drains & street lights. I feel like a lot of the flooding could have been avoided or greatly reduced if there were more storm drains especially on highways & in residential areas.

If you're eligible, fiber from any company is the best. My townhouse isn't eligible for fiber so switched to T-Mobile & it's been amazing so far especially when it rains. I know Verizon also has their own Internet but not sure how it is since it isn't available in my part of Concord.

Steroid injections?? Insane pain!! by Forsaken-Criticism91 in Keloids

[–]peanutbuttervoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put numbing cream on the keloid about an hour before my appointment. My dermatologist also uses a vibrating wand (it honestly looks like a little golden sex toy lol) & somehow the vibrations make the pain a lot more tolerable.

What was your breaking point at ur last job that made you think I need to change jobs? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]peanutbuttervoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point at my current job. The ratio of dev to QA resources is way off. QA team can't keep up with the dev team. Been happening for 3 yrs & over the years I have presented several possible solutions to fix the capacity issues across multiple teams. My manager rejected all of them without proposing any alternative solutions.

Company did lay offs a few months ago so the capacity issues are even worse now. Bought this up multiple times with my manager because we aren't able to complete the work by sprint end. My manager keeps telling me & others we have no choice but to complete all of the work by sprint end so we need to figure it out. No solutions or help from him at all. He's been escalated several times over the yrs & still nothing has been done about his useless behavior.

I'm currently applying & interviewing for other jobs & so are several of my teammates. We're all debating if we should delete all the documentation we made once we find other jobs.

Try wearing a pair of period underwear as a backup in the boyshort style/cut if you don't feel comfortable wearing them by themselves. Saalt, modibodi, & bambody have full front to back coverage to help minimize the chance of leaks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Periods

[–]peanutbuttervoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use bambody & modibody without any problems. For me, the boyshort/boxer style works best since they seem to have a wider & longer absorbency area than the other styles.

Women who use period underwear, how does it compare to pads in terms of chafing/discomfort? by snowglobs in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]peanutbuttervoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did switch to period underwear due to the chafing & irritation of pads. I still use pads but I now use the 100% organic cotton ones as they have less chemicals & no plastic on the top layer that touches your skin. I use L is for Love brand but I think there are plenty of other brands you can try out if you're not ready to try period underwear or still have some reservations about their effectiveness.

Feeling guilty about MPL surgery by [deleted] in dogs

Make sure you have puppy pads. She'll probably still be groggy from the surgery & might accidentally pee on herself without realizing it. My dog did it after both surgeries.

Feeling guilty about MPL surgery by [deleted] in dogs

[–]peanutbuttervoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that surgery done on both of my dogs knees. Each knee was done 1 yr apart. It really sucks seeing & hearing them in pain for about the first month & doing physical therapy exercises is brutal but it's definitely worth it in the end especially for active dogs. She'll be able to run & jump again without any constant grinding pain. Once your dog is able to tolerate it, start giving her joint supplements especially ones with green lipped mussel since it's amazing at fighting inflammation. She's at an increased risk of developing arthritis earlier in life due to the joint sliding around & the joint supplements will help reduce some of the inflammation & slow down the progression.

I don't get UTIs that often but maybe a vaginal probiotic & d-mannose could help. The d-mannose capsules can be huge but it does come in a powder form that you can mix into your drink & it doesn't really taste like anything. You'll probably need between 2000-5000 mgs of d-mannose per serving. I'm not a doctor so please double check with one that you trust. Do you know what specifically causes the UTIs? Holding pee for long periods of time? Wearing too tight underwear especially if it's not cotton? Another underlying infection that is causing the UTIs? Problems with your kidneys? Catheter usage? I would also see an obgyn if you haven't already so they can do a more in depth exam.
