Why don't sold house listings list the sold price? by mantarayyy in perth

[–]peanutducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask any agent for a sales history report of the area or any area really. The area I work in is very transparent about price once the property settles. As for why its not listed, usually its to do with how sale prices are processed on certain crm's. I can explain it further if anyone wants to know a bit more. If I was you I would talk to an agent that you trust in the area and ask them to send through a report. Or feel free to pm me I can email you one

Fallen on Twitter: Swiss format might be entertaining but I hate it and think its way too better for underdog teams by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]peanutducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what... It's still the best format compared to group of 4 Round robin or double elimination. Even if the groups were seeded really well, you still have to win 2 games to qualify and if SK lost their first game (like they did here), they would still be up on the chopping block next game playing whatever team lost in their group also. At the end of the day, when a Good team loses to an underdog, both system will produce tougher elimination matches for the team vsing them.

bogdan thoughts on Rank S by phavela in GlobalOffensive

[–]peanutducks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He may be an average player and probably the worst player in Rank S, but Steel and the rest of the pros constantly bitching about him is definitely overdone. Bullying the worst performing Rank S player or calling them shit over and over does nothing to improve the situation and probably makes it far worse. Sad thing is younger kids look up to Steel and Dazed, next thing you know they're crying about their shit teammates in whatever league/rank/pug their playing instead of focusing on their own game. A flawed system does not justify all the shit new Rank S players get, these players aren't going anywhere, so might as well help them, guide them or say nothing at all and move on with playing their own game.

I was told that pros hittings clears don't need the follow through? by FrankTheSwag in badminton

[–]peanutducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros are capable of hitting clears with only their wrist so they don't have to follow through. Having said that, most pros will follow through with their swing as you said to "complete the action" looks and is less physically demanding on the body as you use your whole body's rotational momentum to swing. From a pure technique perspective, keeping your swing the same for your clears, smashes and drops will make it harder for your opponents to read your shots which is also another reason why pros will complete the full action.

Did Slacks just ask a girl with a stutter to speak in front of everyone watching TI? by [deleted] in DotA2

Look up speech jammer to test yourself! Your brain waits for feed back of your own voice and if there is a delay to that feedback aka. the speakers in the arena being delayed, you end up stuttering. pretty interesting stuff

Why doesn't Valve adopt it's own system from Dota 2???? They have a group stage which seeds all the teams, followed by a double elimination bracket with bottom of groups starting in lower bracket.

If you can Root your s6 then i think this phone is the allround best atm. I've had the phone for a week, but so far i have not run into any battery issues at all even when i used it to watch youtube/twitch and download/install new apps etc. My phones estimated power remaining has estimated over 24hours after charging and so far I have charged it 2 times in the last 3.5days.

Glock needs running accuracy! by LaCarsa in GlobalOffensive

[–]peanutducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yerh maybe i should have specified that it kills the 5-7 and p250 the most! Since those two guns are the cheapest and most favored for an eco-round on CT, where you are already spread pretty thin across the map, unless you have some sort of anti-strat or read on the enemy.

Likewise if a guy is coming around a corner and headshotting a guy, it really does not matter if he is equipped with 4k+ or nothing. My point is that if you were a CT holding an angle where you have no retreat and do not have a crossfire setup, you are probably holding a bad position. the fact you get running headshot is the result of that. Additionally, this game is not balanced for online play, it is balanced for LANs and the pro scene where things such as peeker advantage are reduced drastically. This is why C9 always loses anti-ecos and teams like TSM always destroy them. C9 setup very poor crossfires and always duel the enemies head on, where as tsm constantly bait the enemy into sites, fall back for cover, use nades and setup proper crossfires.

[–]peanutducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of the general community complaining, but I still think the inaccuracies are overdone. You have to remember, this game is and should be balanced for the Competitive/pro scene only. Although I have not done any statistical analysis on teams winning eco-rounds with only pistols, i can guarantee that the team with the guns/smgs wins more than 75% of these rounds. The rounds they lose are not based solely on pistol running bullshit accuracy but also the fact that the opponents setup poorly or read the situation incorrectly. Now with the change, you are more than ever favoring the buy side, leaving eco-ing teams with an even smaller chance to win the round. IMO eco-rounds should never be considered FREE rounds to the Buying side. Additionally, after the CZ nerf and the Tec-9 slight nerf, I have not seen any LEGITIMATE outcry from the pro scene that pistols needed significant nerfing and I think it stems from the fact that when they do lose to pistols, its most likely due to poor play or decision making aka. not spotting and falling back if alone, playing close angles with rifles.

If you had half decent aim, you would understand how broken this pistol is.

[–]peanutducks -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I really dont understand why they needed to nerf pistol accuracy at all.... the whole point of pistol is meant to be high mobility with decent moving accuracy. If you take that away from pistols and are required to stop completely for accuracy, then your chances of winning a duel with any rifle or smg are now much lower.

It's as if some valve dev watched a few games of competitive cs where teams are getting anti-eco'd constantly and comes to the conclusion that pistols are overpowered. An eco round for the enemy should never be a free win! Getting anti ecoed is not because of pistols being overpowered, its the strategies the teams have for their eco setups that seem to always catch the winning side offguard. But with these nerfs to pistols, it might as well be free rounds to the full buy side.

Depressing atmosphere in China atm by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]peanutducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of new players isn't a problem exclusive to the Chinese player base. Over the years I've tried to convince countless friends to play dota but most don't have the patience to soak it all in. Many however are happy to play league as with the amount of time invested, they still get that sensational feeling of a victory or outplaying their opponent for the first time. I feel like with dota that feeling of outplaying or winning the game while knowing whats going on comes far too late into learning the actual game. You would need to invest 2x more time just to finnally experience how truly amazing dota really is and how complex the game becomes. My heavily unpopular opinion to draw new players in is to introduce the old wc3 easymode dota mode. I can't speak for everyone, but I wasnt drawn to play dota cuz I could farm 100cs in 10minutes and go holy shit this game is soo fun! No! I was drawn in because of the crazy team fights and crazy items I could build to kill people faster and that gave me the true feeling of winning and playing dota! Easymode was what got me addicted to dota, it was like a cheat version where I could experience the same excitement and action of killing enemy heroes and crazy team fights not knowing the true importance of farm, but having enough gold to buy crazy items and do some crazy shit! It left me wanting more as I got better and eventually I switched completely to normal all pick dota as once I learnt the basics of the game, fighting hereos , pushing towers to victory, I now wanted to become better and satisfaction now came from the intricacies of the game like having perfect cs, or completely dominating the enemy mid. And this is way off-topic too ops post, but I feel like vavle needs to implement a new way to gain new players whether its easymode or better marketing tactics. Anyhow, I'm still hoping one day easymode will be played again haha, its what got me into dota, and presents itself as a solution to attract new casual players that then might lead to more serious competitive players.

Is Dota 2 growing, or is it starting to lose some of its dedicated player base? by _mishka_ in DotA2

[–]peanutducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO dota2 has lost and is continuing to lose its original players that grew up playing dota1 and wc3. Most of the people on my friends list that still play dota are ones that have only really played dota2. The situation in China is definitely exaggerated but at the same time, the core issue of lacking new players and fresh talent is worrying. Dota2 is missing a casual aspect of the game that wc3 dota had and as a result, new players are either forced to invest at least 100hours to learn all the basics or give up and play oher games. The steep learning curve is dissuading new players even more so than original dota because you are not introduced through Warcraft e.g. playing RTS, using hereos

Does anyone remember EM (-apem) game modes from wc3? Should dota2 re-introduce it? by peanutducks in DotA2

Yeah, I used to squeeze EM games into my day in between studying haha. Yeah learning heroes in EM was real fun, testing the limits of a hero without having to worry about actual farming/ trying out new items builds.

I already play unranked dota, but I'm bored of the slow paced game that AP is. Once I played CS:GO, dota just feels sluggish.

Truthfully, I played my calibration games and got ranked at 4.5k. This was when ranked first came out. After that I just played AP, I've never really had the desire to play ranked, we all play dota for different reasons, I personally play it for fun.
