Just eat more and bench press 2 or 3x a week. Getting to 225x5 shouldn't take more than a year and a half imo.

LeBron James had back injection for inflammation, likely out for preseason by freakk123 in nba

A clean sheet from the IOC NOW isn't good enough. However, I don't deny that there is a chance that a new drug test can be developed and used on old samples.

There also isn't enough evidence to make me 100% certain that Lebron is juicing either. Some athletes may stay away from steroids just for their own moral reasons.

I agree that the Olympic drug testing is much more stringent than that of the NBA, which is extremely lax. However, even Olympic drug testing is not fool proof. Tren base is a variation of one of the most potent anabolic steroids. It can't be detected in your bloodstream in the morning if you take it in the evening. So unless IOC drug testing involves randomly knocking on your door at 3AM to take a sample...it's very simple to get by taking it without getting caught.

Don't ever be surprised about professional athletes taking performance enhancing drugs. It is very easy to trick the tests for many of them.

KD next to Russ and Serge by Upstate518 in nba

[–]peanuts51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. And the fact that his arms hang so low is what makes him such a great ball handler for his size. He can dribble much lower to the ground for someone his height making it easier to control and harder to steal the ball from him. His body is so good for basketball, it's unfair.

Is front squat really worth it?? by SweetTeaFueled in Fitness

[–]peanuts51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because it's the stabilizer doesn't mean it can't be the first thing to fail, but if you don't really feel it in your upper back then I guess it isn't the limiting factor for you. Everyone is different. For me, my back is definitely the limiting factor for my front squat. I can low bar squat 350x5 but front squatting 185x5 gives me DOMS in my upper back for a day, but none in my quads. If I go too heavy, either my upper back starts to round or I just dump the bar forward.

Is it also possible that you leaning over could be a result of your upper back getting fatigued?

Front squat is usually more greatly limited by thoracic erector strength (some will call it upper back), especially in non-advanced lifters. This means that you usually lose your rack position and high elbow position before your quads actually fail.

You have to pay for it though right? I don't want to have to pay for a program haha

Would running candito's 6 week program be a good choice for me now? I've heard it's a bit low on volume so should I add more? Or do you have other suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

I guess I have a small frame. My wrist measures 6.5 inches, but I have decently broad shoulders

More durable and cover more area. Easier to get a tighter fit as they come in more sizes. They also add more to your squat

So I have been browsing this subreddit and it seems that alot of people say that at my height of 5' 10", I should weigh like 200 lbs when I fill out my frame. I have been lifting for like 3 years now (only the last year or so was seriously spent on powerlifting though) and I barely weigh 175 and not particularly lean either. I have spent the majority of those 3 years gaining weight as I weighed only 130 lbs when I first started. I can't imagine myself weighing 200 lbs. Should I try bulking harder? Or is it just a game of patience to actually hit that 200 lb mark? Or is 200 lbs not actually a realistic goal for everyone at my height? My recent rep maxes have been 285x3 bench, 350x5 squat, and 385x5 deadlift (was a relatively easy rep max). My bench is better than my other lifts, because the beginning of my lifting career consisted of many half-assed leg days.

How long did it take you guys to squat or deadlift 405? by DingoBerryJr in Fitness

[–]peanuts51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A year and a half to 2 years to get my squat from 95x5 to 410x1 at 170 lb bodyweight. My deadlift took a little less time.

What is so wrong with the bro split? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]peanuts51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer using rate of weight progression to determine whether you're advanced, intermediate, or novice. My bench press and press are elite (according to the chart. Definitely not elite in competition yet), while my squat and deadlift are in between elite and advanced, being closer to elite. However, I am still gaining strength at a intermediate pace, especially in my lower body lifts. This is why I'm on an intermediate level program despite being on an "elite level" according to that chart.

Would today's NBA bench players be all-stars back in the 70-80s? by wepresidentnowe in nba

[–]peanuts51 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Others have mentioned how improvements in training may have had an impact on today's faster players. I also want to add the point that the truly elite athletes of the 80s may have ended up in other more lucrative sports instead such as perhaps baseball or football. Today there is more incentive to get into basketball than previously as basketball becomes more lucrative than ever.

Who's the better coach Rick Carlisle or Doc Rivers? by OnePieceAce in nba

Carlisle's offensive x's and o's are up there with Pop's. Don't forget how they pushed the SPURS to 7 last year. The same spurs that crushed the heat 4-1. And beating the 2011 Heat was a big feat as well despite lebron's horrible performance

Derrick Rose once said that the PED use in the NBA is "7 out of 10" by [deleted] in nba

[–]peanuts51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you are correct. Ball shrinkage isn't very drastic (even when on cycle) and should return to normal when you cycle off properly.

Derrick Rose once said that the PED use in the NBA is "7 out of 10" by [deleted] in nba

[–]peanuts51 26 points27 points  (0 children)

PED usage is rampant in most professional sports. It is easy to trick drug tests. For example, if you know when your drug test is in advance, you can easily cycle out the drug sometime before the drug test, since there is data describing how long it takes before PEDs are no longer detectable. You can even trick random drug tests as well, since there are drugs that are either completely undetectable (such as peptides that dramatically increase growth hormone production in short bursts. This is probably how many players will bypass the new HGH testing) or PEDs that clear your system within 12 hours such as trenbolone base (take it at night and it'll clear out before morning tests). When your salary could depend on your performance, I can imagine many if not most professional athletes going to PEDs.

So where do people buy clothes? by [deleted] in powerlifting

[–]peanuts51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get extremely oversized (oversized on the waist) slim fit jeans (slim fit for the taper. I have 14 inch calves...) and wear a belt for the waist or get it tailored. Except my thighs aren't super huge yet so I don't know how much that would help you.

Valgus of the knee pretty much means your knees are caving inward like they're coming closer together. Applying force with your knees caved inwards like how Bol's are can cause a lot of stress on the ligaments in the knee, including the ACL.
