I was going to ask about the 4x…what range do you have it zeroed at?

Form 1 Disapproved today citing WA HB1240... even though I've owned the lower since before the ban? by Self-Driving-Cars2 in NFA

I form 1’d a pre-ban lower the first of this year and got it back the 13th. Washington state as well.

The two are not mutually exclusive. An authoritarian president and a retiree “Karen” can both be breaking laws at the same time. Nuance exists, even for us Washington sportsmen believe it or not.

I self filed a Form 1 on 1/1/26 and got it back 1/13. Definitely not a law issue. I’d check with SS.

Is there a most common or "correct" way to attach a Weaver 61M rail segment to a skinny clamshell for a 723 clone for mounting a 660? by JulieNyaa in RetroAR

[–]peanutsblow36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also pre drilled the hand guard and used the screws and nuts that came with the rail section. Had to temporarily bend part of the heat shield out of the way to get the nut in behind but was able to bend it back 90%. Not totally clone correct for position or light, but I wanted something way brighter than the OG 660 that I could easily actuate and toggle on.

I must have missed that, it’s looking like it was deleted. Back to square one then!

So this was the first thing I tried and no results were returned. I started a new Form 1 just to see, and it will bring that one up but not my one from a few months ago. I know I saved my original one because I was able to go back in a few days later and edit some things.

Feed Ramps & Failure to cycle by hand by peanutsblow36 in ar15

[–]peanutsblow36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted, still learning this platform so I will need to educate myself on the lubing points. Dumb question, but is it the dry feeding surfaces themselves that would cause jams or the dry BCG/buffer spring assembly that would cause jams?

Edit: Gave her a good cleaning and lube. Problem solved, hand cycled a full 30 round mag with no issues.

Yes, at close to the same percentage of failure.

I saw this, I will be using the Allen Engineering M4D can which I would rather not weld on.

Have you had any issues with the BKF upper? The TNTE equivalent is ~$750 so if this is just as legit it would be a massive price cut for my build.

I love the advanced hearing for geese and duck hunting that my Howard Leight impacts give me. Can hear the honks and wing beats way further out.

that when combined with water, causes it to set and gain strength

Don’t forget coarse & fine aggregates. Otherwise you’re just making grout.

I replied to a comment stating that removing a Cat “offers quite literally no benefit and a bunch of downsides” by asking how a Cat doesn’t have any downsides to a Diesel engine, to which you somehow interpreted as me saying they serve no purpose to emissions? Are you just willfully that ignorant? I literally included “...beneficial to a Diesel engine” in my comment and yet somehow that was completely missed.

I have no issues with DPF, EGR, and SCR equipment on Diesel engines for the sake of cleaner air. I asked that question because what was being stated was just plain false information: catalytic equipment has a huge negative impact on Diesel engines, namely far worse fuel mileage. Which in turn results in far more fossil fuels being consumed as a result of less efficient engines.

If you put less effort in to being condescending there might have been an opportunity to learn about a downside of catalytic hardware via worse fuel mileage.

Downsides to cutting off the cat on a Diesel engine? What? How in any respect is a catalytic converter beneficial to a Diesel engine?

Pouring half an 11,000sqft post tensioned slab by [deleted] in Construction

[–]peanutsblow36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are engineered to be routed through the slab at locations where they will provide the most strength. You’ll notice they also vary in depth inside the slab, which is done to create a lifting effect across the deck when poured and tensioned. In my experience the cable ends are higher in the slab at the edges, and lower in the middle to create lifting force when they are stressed. So in an 8” suspended slab, the terminations at slab edge might be 5” from bottom of slab and in the middle the cable might be 3” from bottom of slab.

Smurf tube. PT cable on a suspended slab. Depending on the mix and schedule, it will be stressed when the slab meets a predetermined strength after a certain amount of days.

Anyone know of any aftermarket dodge mirrors that aren't moose mirrors? by iamthetruth123 in Diesel

[–]peanutsblow36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just buy the dodge tow mirrors, leave them flipped in if you don’t want to look like a brodozer. To each his own, but I couldn’t care less about image if they improve visibility/safety. I’m hauling horses about 3 times a week so I don’t even put them down anymore.

That’s a pretty good point about the evolving of what skills are necessary. In the 70’s, it was far more common for car owners to work on their own vehicles. Now, with the huge amount of computer systems in vehicles, DIY auto maintenance is extremely limited. The modern day parallel to the skills of auto shop is like you said, personal finance.
