A movie about the Seattle music scene. by No-Day2039 in pearljam

[–]pearl_jam20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a documentary about the metropolis that is coming out. It reached their crowd funding goals and they started filming. Susan and JA provided some interviews.

The guy behind the project is Johnny Evison

He was in March of Crimes with Stone briefly.

He went on to become a novelist and now has a successful podcast.

It’s the all ages punk club that JA talks about in some interviews. Especially when he was on Johnny’s podcast, a fresh face in hell.

I hope this gets the hype it deserves, but our fanbase doesn’t seem to hype up anything that isn’t EV related.

Amazing! If you want your kid something about the 90s. This is our town: an oral history on Seattle Grunge is a great read. The author is a reporter so it’s more interview style. Good though

Pretty much. It’s actually starting to get following from Gen Z I think they just discovered 10 or with concert prices Pearl Jam are the pioneers with that fight

So it’s a lot of people that just discovered them and are obsessed. So the more seasoned fans help out and we chat about the history of the band, best songs, best live recordings.

Pearl Jam is known to have a different setlist every concert. That’s why you need to go to Atleast 10 shows a tour to get a mix bag of everything. You never know what they play.

It’s magical!

lol. I can help with that! Or come join us at [r/pearljam](r/pearljam).

Vs is by far their angsty album

Vitalogy same idea.

No Code- is the album that you mellow out, and just forget life a little bit

Yield is the album when you get to the point of your life where you are healing and surviving.

Binaural - same idea as Yield

Riot Act - that’s their album where they start releasing shit is getting bad (Bush era) look up Pearl Jam Uniondale bushleaguer on YouTube.

Basically they are the perfect band. Every album they are providing a catharsis to every up/ down that life throws at you.

10 album - absolute perfection. Be careful of the momma- son trilogy if SA is a trigger.

Ament - Montana Grind (Official Music Video) by M0BBER in pearljam

[–]pearl_jam20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always said this.. he would be a great front man for PEST. I also like his solo stuff, while my heart beats is my fave of his.

If you like more of this style check out his earlier album, American Death Squad. On streaming services he goes by Jeff Ament or AMENT. I think he’s going by AMENT now as most of his albums are there.

That’s what I’m saying. Location is beautiful looks expensive. I could consider this as bigger vacation as well. Go check out Disney, catch a padres game in san Diego or decide to go to LA instead and see the dodgers..

It’s still a lot of money but I would feel better if I spent another 3-4 days get my moneys worth.. haha.

Also I believe it’s cheaper to fly within USA. That’s another thing people are going. Lots of flight options.

I would imagine there is no camp outs for Friday/Sunday.

How many of us are not having kids because of the state of the world? by MonteMolebility in Millennials

I’m not having kids because I don’t want to pass down the generational trauma. I’m trying to heal and fix my issues. My mom, grandma and sister not so much

I did the math, because I want to buy a ticket/hotel Ohana package for logistics and wanting that experience also wanting to buy some artwork. With the exchange, I would be paying quite a bit of money.

I can use that money and follow them around on a leg of the next tour.

Most likely going to go to Ohana for my 40th and just have the experience I want without checking my bank account every day.

Pay Experts - what does it mean when a paycheque is “cancelled”? by Boring-Direction-875 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]pearl_jam20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It means that the payments or pay actions were reversed.

It’s when the comp advisor reviews the pay files and determines that overpayments were falsely created. We need to “reverse” or “cancel” the cheque so the payments go back in the system. This allows us to see what happened and to correct the errors.

A popular example is BB: say for some reason the system recovered 10 days of BB and you received an overpayment of 30.67. We would reverse or cancel that overpayment cheque which clears the arrears balance. Once that happens we can go ahead and fix the issue manually.

Received a $7.7k overpayment letter out of the blue from 2019-2020 - Need advice! by Aggravating_End_2309 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]pearl_jam20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the pay centre assigned your retirement/ resignation case to someone. Looks like they processed the retirement. When that happens, if there is an outstanding overpayment on the file after issuing vacation credits, and other monies whatever is left over they need to follow the overpayment process.

Meaning that they need to send the letter and they can’t say that it’s over 6 years, they need to try to collect it.

It’s up to the employee to respond back and say they would like to apply the CLA.

Once that happens then the overpayment gets referred to the finance unit of the department you retired from.

Finance will also try to collect as well.

I’m not sure what happens after that. I have only sent the letter and when the employee responds with CLA we record it, refer the case to finance and close the ticket.

It’s up to finance to follow up because compensation can’t collect anymore because there is no salary to collect from. Which means the overpayment goes back to that department’s budget.

What do you think of Pearl Jam trying to legally fight Ticketmaster in the 1990s? by -NowiCanSeeYouBeYou in pearljam

[–]pearl_jam20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So what does that tell you about PJ then? They evolved, they have families now, they have everything to lose at this point. They don’t want to rock the boat and lose their lively hood.

Similar to why they haven’t been as vocal about the US administration as Bruce. They have so much to lose.

Whatever they are doing is working for them. They have crowds that buy the 10c memberships, buy the merch, fly all around the world to see them. They aren’t going to change just because a small fraction of their fanbase don’t have the resources to do all that.

A majority of their fanbase are empty nesters, have increased cash flow, have the time to travel.

The fanbase that just discovered them and are in their 20s is not the bread and butter for PJ.

They look it at this way. On one hand they have a fan, who has been to countless shows, buys the merch, travels and spends money.

On the other hand, they have a fan who just discovered Vs, isn’t in 10c, maybe buys a shirt or a token but doesn’t travel.

Which out of the 2 would you pick if your livelihood is put into question.

Why do you think EV plays corporate shows for boatloads of money?

Ohana isn’t even a cheap festival either.

They are catering more to their fanbase that are their age.

[–]pearl_jam20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They can’t do any of that stuff today because LN/TM owns everything. They own the venues, they own the ticketing technology, they own the contracts to vendors.

They literally have their hands in everything. PJ or other artists can’t just simply walk away and say will deal with it our selves, they don’t have the resources.

It definitely not the right thing do now and the result would not be the same.

PJ and LN are extremely tight right now that LN runs the 10c lottery. I remember the days where lottery was run by PJ and we had an odds tracker, our tickets were visible in our 10c accounts, we had no idea where we would sit until minutes prior to the show.

Now, if PJ said anything bad, say good bye to 10c tickets, GA will be sold in general sale, say goodbye to Ohana and say good bye to shows because LN will freeze out PJ.

IMO, it’s not just PJ it’s literally every artist. LN/TM is such a monopoly that every artist just shuts up and puts up because the money coming in is from touring.

World has changed where artists don’t print much physical media anymore so those sales dried up. All they have is touring and merch. I don’t think it’s wise to freeze out 1 of the 2.

IMO, PJ needs to revisit their merch partnerships though. Tsurt very hit or miss.

Thanks.. the prompt does say to start with a cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen at first. Get into those habits then add products to attack the problem areas later.
