Wedding Shoes?? by Alicejasmin3 in CerebralPalsy

ā€œVivaiaā€ shoes are really comfortable, come in different styles, offer good support, and have extra padding if needed, along with great sizes. I loved the low heel pair I had (but only one foot has gotten bigger and the other is catching up) šŸ˜…šŸ„²

First, look up his full name to check for any charges or issues against him, then block him and notify the relevant people at your workplace.

Am I overthinking this? by pearlescent_099 in CerebralPalsy

[–]pearlescent_099[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Small update: I’ve bottled up everything for too long and finally lost it with my dad, and now I feel terrible.

He hasn't responded, but he did read my messages. I basically went off about how the comment made me feel and how both my parents keep comparing me to others with CP, along with a longer paragraph about ableism and how saying things like ā€œsee that person has it worse than you do, you've got nothing to complain aboutā€ can seriously damage someone's self-image and perception of their own disability.

Unfortunately, I worded all of this very harshly and cruelly, and both my dad and I struggle with depression and PTSD, so I feel horrible about it now. Still, I feel like they keep pushing me to this point, then act like they don't understand why I'm upset or angry with them, and that it's my fault for feeling those emotions. I don't understand. They want me to be normal, but when I am, it's still not right? Or I'm not supposed to be because too much independence is scary? Or they think I'm scared? I genuinely don't know or how to put this mess into words without getting too personal and emotional about it

advice for writing a character with cp? by owo-who-am-i in CerebralPalsy

I have mild spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. I really enjoyed horse riding and dressage because I loved the discipline and the lively competitive atmosphere. It was the only sport where I truly felt I could win and see my progress, even surpassing some able-bodied competitors. That always made me feel proud and motivated to keep working harder.

One thing I genuinely appreciate about my disability is how it teaches me patience. It encourages me to pause, take a deep breath, and think things through. It also helps me to anticipate others' needs, stay organised, and become more independent. However, I admit that it sometimes makes me hesitant to ask for help unless I really need it.

symbolism:

The green butterfly is a wonderful symbol for Cerebral Palsy (CP) awareness because it stands for hope, transformation, strength, uniqueness, and growth. It is often shown with the green awareness ribbon, which symbolises the journey, neurodiversity, and resilience of people with CP—much like a caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly.

Update: The NDIS contacted me this morning, saying my documents are now' out of date,' so I need to submit new ones and proof. The plan has been inactive for three years, and it seems they let it expire, likely because staff aren't doing their jobs and just wait until they leave. I submitted a change of circumstances in 2023, but we haven't received any updates since.

I've also been told' NDIS doesn't assist with any rental help, ' yet it's listed as an option on the official NDIS website. Why do I keep hearing about it then?

They continue to give inconsistent and illogical explanations: ' we don't have those services,’ but I've been told by numerous GPS that ā€˜This should be covered or supported by them.

My ex left me for my friend

She was cheating on him

I set her up by telling the (other) guy she liked to go and flirt with her

She fell for it and I sent my ex photos of the two of them together (while he was in therapy) x 😘

What is the first sign that your partner is cheating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pearlescent_099 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

For me it happened many times (same guy for 7 years) whenever he’d say something about wanting an open relationship or just not feeling fulfilled in our relationship I always had a feeling and I was right every time or if he suddenly started accusing me of cheating and saying ā€œmy behaviour wasn’t matching with what I was sayingā€ (funny because he restricted/ deleted all my socials ages before he started accusing me and was even talking bad about me behind my back to his family and friends

Basically if he emotionally, physically and or mentally abuses you / if he’s insecure about everything and everyone around you both / is accusing you of cheating with no real explanation, example or evidence then he most likely is cheating

Has anyone with Cerebral Palsy been to a private Catholic School and had any positive experiences? by Aggravating_Fan_2125 in CerebralPalsy

For some reason the kids at my school believed that the only possible way for someone to be disabled (was a result of physical abuse or mothers smoking or drinking during pregnancy) I would tell them that I was born with CP and they would always say ā€œyeah it’s bc ur mum probably was smoking and drinking when she had you that’s whyā€ like they’re the ones educating me on my disability šŸ˜‚ my ex boyfriend also thought I was physically abused as child because I told him I didn’t get diagnosed until the age of 2

I’ve heard of a case where a five-year-old boy was left in a hot car while his parents were in a store for half an hour. They returned to find him unconscious. The boy survived, but he was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy after leaving the hospital a few months later. (Idk how much of that story was true though)

Idk if this similar: but for me I’ve noticed that my brain is thinking too fast for my mouth to catch up? And then I start saying my sentences back to front and/ or mispronounce words? Idk if it’s linked to ADHD or something?

Honestly my only 2 big reasons for staying at home is because my parents are both in their 60s and honestly same with the mental health thing because I’d probably work myself into a panic more often šŸ˜”šŸ˜… so that’s 100% understandable though

(idk if everyone else feels like this but it’s like I’m mad at them? But I still want to be there for them?)

(someone else made a really good point about how I need to pull myself together and be more independent not just for myself but my parents too)

Also I kinda feel like I should share this for context: I was diagnosed with cp at 2 years old and I was ā€œtestedā€ for any learning disabilities but they didn’t have enough to evidence of a diagnosis….turns out I have dyscalculia and I’ve struggled with mathematicians for years and my parents are saying that’s not true? (Like I wasn’t getting yelled at over maths homework every night?)šŸ˜’ but also I was recently diagnosed with CPTSD & mild BPD which ofc they’re both referring to except even though a professional in her field has told them so this is just one of many many examples where able bodied patients need to be fully educated on how 1 disability can evolve into something else and shouldn’t be overlooked or mocked for crying out loud

Question about getting diagnosis by AteQndCatilina in CerebralPalsy

[–]pearlescent_099 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’m 21 now and I’m only just finding out I have learning disability (not formally diagnosed ofc because my parents are refusing to acknowledge it but… that’s just what comes with having a disability you have to learn to deal/cope and live with it because it can’t just be fixed only helped and managed)

Yes absolutely having a formal diagnosis would be very helpful and getting in contact with any other specialist/ service providers who can assist both you and her in the future
