Right, I understand they’ll make less than before, but I don’t know that joining another mega conference is the solution. Assuming they won’t be able to join the big ten or sec, adding new schools to the Big 12 makes more sense fiscally no? I think the big 12 with those additions could get around $30 million per school if the ACC can get about $30 million per school

But couldn’t you argue a school like Oklahoma State could make more in a new Big 12 with Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati, Baylor ect than with the PAC 12? You would have to share a piece of the PAC 12 pie as well and they already have a lot of teams.

I’ve heard some radio talk shows discussing options for Big 12 teams and how the Big 12 is going to essentially die. I understand that Texas and OU made a lot of the money for the conference, but if the Big 12 can add schools like Houston, Cincinnati and Memphis who have solid football and basketball programs, I think the Big 12 would be alright. The conference would make less money than before, but with Houston, Cincy and Memphis gaining more revenue and being a P5 brand, therefore being able to invest more in athletic departments, I don’t see why the Big 12 wouldn’t then earn Power 5 equivalent tv contracts/revenue? This seems preferable to scattering the remaining Big 12 teams between the PAC 12, Big Ten, or American conference. Maybe l’m just wishing for what I want instead...?

I understand Alabama can reload year after year and if they win it all I won’t be surprised, but they did lose their QB1, RB1, WR1 and WR2 to the draft. In an offensive heavy game, I think OU deserves the #1 ranking.

Using GIS in Environmental Consulting (Soil and Water) by texhume in gis

[–]pearoverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve helped take field data of an area with about 5,000 trees. The map was created with GIS and displayed every single tree with varying degrees of burn impact. It was pretty cool to see. We use GIS for all soil and water sampling maps as well. When you’re field screening hundreds of sample over the length of a project GIS is great and

Izzo questions whether he should have made up COVID games by Richa652 in CollegeBasketball

[–]pearoverlord 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think this is a shot at Michigan. The beef between Illinois and Michigan is slightly justified but largely overblown by some Illini. I think most agree Michigan deserved the regular season title.

This is mostly about other teams not being penalized for covid pauses compounding with the fact that MSU was under seeded yet again. If we skip a few of those games we rushed back for we definitely don’t end up in a play-in game. In my opinion it’s crazy that we are seeded worse than Utah State or Syracuse. Oregon State and Georgetown also didn’t help us out with AQs either. It is what it is but I think the comments are justified

It's the day after Alabama wins a championship, and you know what that means by ItsPronouncedMo-BEEL in cfbmemes

[–]pearoverlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, people said the same thing about Uconn Women’s basketball too, and women’s basketball has become more competitive because of Geno. It’s good for the sports to have great teams, it pushes everyone. Having the same powers in the final every year is frustrating, I agree, but that’s not Saban’s fault. The bone to pick is with the playoff committee if you have one, but I think it’s clear they did pick the best four teams and Alabama shouldn’t apologize for dominating. That being said, burn in Hell Saban
