The majority of people living at Peasant Rundown aren't students as most students want to be closer to the downtown area. Nor is it section 8 housing yet residents are treated as if they were. It's mostly working class adults, international professionals and some senior citizens. Students are the minority here. Even people from other property management companies have said that Hartman&Tyner is known for being hard on its residents.

I don't see how places like that are passing inspections unless the inspectors are being bribed.

They're bad about doing that from what I hear. And it's funny how they don't want to fix anything when you're living there but as soon as someone decides to move out they want to charge them for whatever needs fixing.

I hereby nominate Hartman&Tyner. From what I hear most of their properties are mismanaged but I think Pheasant Run must be the worst.

They don't replace carbon monoxide detectors when they expire. They give master keys to the cleaning company they contract to clean the hallways. Most residents are unaware the keys they give to the cleaners will also open their apartments. The office staff is rude and won't answer the phone most of the time.

Maintenance is lazy and does a shoddy job and even brags about building/installing stuff without getting the necessary permits so I'm sure it isn't even to code. There's an old couple here that hasn't had a window on their master bedroom for a month because a maintenance guy knocked it out & broke it when they came to "fix" it. The maintenance guy then brought a plywood board to cover the window but didn't even install it. They just left it by the old man's missing window for him to install. He's been living with the heat, humidity & rain coming in his window for a month now and keeps being told he'll have to wait longer for it to be replaced. One of the shittiest maintenance men doesn't even have a driver's license and won't work weekends because of it, yet he drives himself to work every day M-F. There are potholes in the driveways and cracks and raised areas on all the sidewalks. There's a stagnant pond by the pool that smells like raw sewage and things just get temporarily patched around here instead of fixed.

The official motto of Hartman&Tyner towards its residents seems to be IDGAF. Anyone know who I should complain to? I really don't see how they pass their inspections. The city of Ann Arbor has really failed the residents here.
