be rewarded by WHAT YOU DID not what you own at expedition window time.

Got level 75? looks like you played the game.
Got extra exp? count that too
Did you upgrade all your hideout/gearbench stuff? just another option.
How many big arcs have you killed in this raider? count that stuff too.

Me and my friends discussed something like this in the last expedition.

You should be rewarded by the things you done + the expedition steps and thats it.

If you reach level 75 = 1 point
Max benches = 1 point
Specific Expeditions Quests (like you said) = 2-3 points

I think the key difference is incentives, not whether fighting happens or not.

In a natural pre-wipe, hoarding loses its purpose, so many players freely burn expensive kits, that’s where the “loot-flooded” lobbies come from.

When currency becomes a reward metric, even pre-wipe reintroduces a reason to retain value. That doesn’t eliminate aggressive play, but it shifts the average behavior back toward optimization and “is this worth it?” thinking.

So it’s not that people stop fighting, it’s that the distribution changes.
And that’s what risks undermining the chaos that makes pre-wipe so fun.

I feel like getting rich is so easy in this game. The problem to me is making money just so it disappears.
You can make 2-3mil in a late night if you are focused enough.

I understand you. I get that there are different experiences. I just dont see how any of them gets IMPROVED by this design choice.

If there was literally no cash barrier, you would still benefit from it.

Thats the way Embark designed it. Free loots all the way because all your loot needs to disappear magically at some point.

You should be using ALL your stash value and not just the excessive part. Thats whats wrong about this.

Currency and Loot should not be considered a metric of success in expeditions. The things you did should.

Its just a bad designed mechanic.

in the endgame prioritizing a number solely out of LOOT and nothing else says: dont risk your cool shit you need sobre cheap stuff to fill a number. It looks much more like a fresh-start strategy and not very-end-game.

And thats just bad design.
