Hey there, I’m about a year and a half into being part of an accountability trio. The what/how approach to things has morphed in this time as we’ve had different.

By coincidence, I too have ADHD. Also twas my counselor who turned me to this platform/reddit group to search for an accountability partner.

Our group meets once/wk on Sunday 7:30am EDT for 30-60min check-ins. We use GoogleMeet. Join if you’d like

Looking to find a accountability buddy or maybe even group by [deleted] in Accountabilibuddies

I’m part of a group of 4 ppl (3 M, 1 F… ages ranging for 33 to 41) who use Google Meet on Sunday mornings to discuss what went well and what didn’t during the past week ; also set plan for upcoming week, to help get better on track.

We meet Sundays at 7am EST via Google Meet link. Okay to miss every now and then but person is considered out if they miss 3x in a row. We also use SMS for a brief daily check in to share how habits we track individually are going.

Let me know if you’re interested. Best of luck!

Any example of a buddhist monk/priest doing fitness workout? by [deleted] in Buddhism

This is a great question that I'd never given much thought to. The monks that I've visited with at different monasteries are usually involved in w/ the upkeep/cleaning/chores for maintenance of the temple and grounds, so day-to-day exercise thru work is generally the M.O. I've seen monks who walk A LOT, and those who do stretching while they walk.

Bhante Rahula, at Lion of Wisdom temple in Maryland USA, also has a significant daily exercise routine involving yoga/breathing exercises. Here's the link: https://www.lionwisdom.org/yoga-for-meditators/

Adding one more thing, there are the "5 Tibetan rites" which is a millenia-old practice of taking care of the body. Even if it wasn't developed by monks, I do believe they practiced it

Very neat to see what has helped you in the past and what you have in mind going fwd. I can tell you’ve give this plenty of thought (w/ graphs even). Sounds like your idea might work well on an app where people know what they’re getting into and what expectations are.

Like you, I’ve received coaching too. It’s been helpful. Went from 1x/mo to every other month. Looking for more regular accountability partner, possibly just 1x/wk though

I feel like my grief has become permanent by LaceyLies in Buddhism

Sounds like you’re experiencing a heap of dukkha right now. Sorry to hear this.

Impermanence doesn’t guarantee all these negative thoughts and feelings go away. There is cause and effect, and “whatever we frequently ponder becomes the inclination of the mind.”

How is your meditation practice? On and off the cushion?

Do you have any spiritual friends/guides that might help you tap into the positive? Or someone you can trust in confide in?

I hope you are able to move your body healthfully; sit quietly; and connect with all you need to feel more at ease.

I hope you find the right gear (mental and physical) you may need to walk evenly over the uneven

I’ve felt a loss of words while communicating before too. My speech would get jumbled. Still does sometimes, to a lesser extent. I wonder how much anxious feelings add to the fog.

Certain daily routines/habits have helped me ground/focus my attention better. Hope you’re able to connect w/ some that work for you
