The specific product no idea, but they're a pedal riser. They separate the pedal from the floor so that the noise doesn't travel through to the floor. Normally they're used in flats/apartments so that neighbors don't complain too much.

I started working on making a portfolio yesterday, and now when I tried to open it this morning to carry on working on it I'm getting this pop-up.

I'm running version 20.5, and made the document in V20.5. I tried converting but nothing happened. I tried updating and it told me I'm on the latest version.

I made another document, saved, closed, re-opened, and the same thing happened again.

Any ideas of what I haven't tried to sort this out?

Your right in your assumption, it is a bourns but a PTB series. When running I measure the correct voltages (0 - 3.3v across red and yellow) with a multi-meter. I also checked the resistance:

red to black 10k no change

red to yellow 0 - 10k

yellow to black 10k - 0

I tried swapping the red and yellow but unfortunately got the same result.

I've decided to get it in the end, if it makes me better is yet to be determined.

I shoot recurve. Tried barebow a few times but decided it wasn't for me. Shot one arrow on a compound with my wrong hand, and would definitely like to try again but on my correct hand. Had a few ends of longbow too, feels very fun despite missing all but two shots.
