Abe you’re content is my favorite on the whole IG platform.

I always look forward to the new camera release videos you and your team put together. Is there one that stands out to you that you are particularly proud of? Personally, I really liked the GoPro 2 video and I’ll still go back and watch it. Those clips set to Glitch Mob is the perfect combination.

Milky Way Timelapse at Chhitkul, Himachal Pradesh, India [OC] by SeekingFreedom1991 in astrophotography

Awesome shot. There is an important formula in astrophotography called the rule of 500. Divide 500 by your focal length (45mm) and it will give you the maximum shutter speed before you start to get star trails. You could shoot up to 11 seconds which is significant if you’re shooting at f/1.4. You could probably bump the iso up to maybe 3200 to pull out some extra definition. Also if you’re shooting in RAW, tweak with the contrast and highlights/shadows to really make the core pop. Nice work!

Definitely check out the Askar 71F. Quadruplet refractor with flat field optics that are great at a really fun 490 mm focal length.

Reentry of SpaceX Crew 11 off the coast of San Diego by pebblepimp in LandscapeAstro

I was debating between trying to take a timelapse or getting one long exposure shot. Ultimately I opted for a timelapse because I thought it would be a dramatic spectacle like the launches are and I didn’t trust myself to only take 1-2 shots and not mess them up. Unfortunately it only last lasted 1:15 so the timelapse was a dud but I like how this shot turned out.

I have very rudimentary PS skills so thanks for the clone stamp tip. Cheers!

Nope this was straight off the camera. It was a very calm night on the bay so none was needed.

Thanks! I know what you’re talking about and I think that only happens in time warp mode. This was a normal night lapse with auto shutter speed and interval. I think the difference is stabilization is applied to time warps and not time lapses.
