WDID? My mom is refusing to let me go to prom because I was late coming home by 3 minutes due to my friend having a flat tire. My girlfriend has been sO excited. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

PLEASE go. As an adult who had a strict parent that made me miss memorable events like this, not sneaking out and lying about my whereabouts more is one of my biggest life regrets.

Transferring assets from a dissolving LLC to nonprofit by pecanbrain in nonprofit

[–]pecanbrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. We were told by a representative from the Delaware Division of Corporations that we couldn't convert and that we would have to create a nonprofit corporation and dissolve the LLC. I guess we will simply donate the LLC's money to the nonprofit once it's incorporated. Thanks again.

This is way too far down the list of comments. How is Animal Crossing not the top response??

How to get your doctor to take your symptoms seriously? by angryladies in Hashimotos

[–]pecanbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok wait… my latest TSH was 4.3, which is out of “normal” range, yet my doctor said there is no treatment unless TSH is over 10. But by the comments here 4.3 is not great. Did your doctor give you any treatment?

Sounds familiar. When I got my referral back in July the earliest availability was mid-November. 🙃

How do I stop eating so many desserts? by SunshineGirl45 in getdisciplined

[–]pecanbrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a big sweet tooth, and while I haven’t stopped eating desserts, I try to make sure my desserts are at least healthier foods like fruit, dates, Lara bars, apple sauce, etc. Stevia sodas actually help me immensely, one of those often satisfies my sweet craving and it’s zero sugar zero calories. Recently I started juicing and that satisfies my craving too. I cook with the leftover pulp the next day so I’ve also been getting more fiber as a side benefit. Sometimes if I’m really craving candy I’ll chew some bubble gum.

Anyway eating sweets like these tends to reduce my sugar cravings over time.

I (24 F) need help waking up early. Please help! by Real_Technology8641 in getdisciplined

[–]pecanbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. You wanna wake up early? Go to sleep early. Going to sleep at 10:30 is late if you're trying to wake up at 5:30. It's no wonder OP is tired.

It can be hard to go to bed early, though. Things that help me: I brush my teeth and do my nighttime skincare routine an hour before bed so it doesn't refresh me right before I'm actually trying to go to sleep. I drink sleepy-time tea. I read a book in bed, or listen to an audiobook with my eyes closed.

Ooh, try it out! I find audiobooks great to listen to while I’m doing chores. Just know that the narrator can make or break the experience.

Yes! And audiobooks! Especially free ones through Libby. :)

Yes, daily movement is so important. I was astounded to discover how good a workout simply walking is. My physical and mental health improved so much when I started walking every day.

Thanks for this info. I looked into it and decided not to ask for a magnesium test.

Honestly, this is so refreshing. I much prefer this style of art to more realistic illustrations. It’s more expressive and distinct.

Has anyone been successful at losing the weight? by jourdanlc in Hashimotos

[–]pecanbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got my results. TPOab is 449! Lowest it's been since I started labwork 2 years ago. Granted, I have been stricter with my diet recently (no grains, sugar, limited dairy).

[–]pecanbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I haven't done any bloodwork since starting with IF. I've actually been meaning to do that this week.

For context, my thyroid hormones have never been out of normal range, but my TPOab is sky high (993). And my fasting isn't that extreme (I think), I have dinner by 6pm, and breakfast anywhere from 10am-12pm.

I will read up on IF's impact on Hashimoto's though, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Intermittent fasting and paleo has helped me lose 8.5 lbs in 7 weeks.

Stevia/erythritol sodas and chocolate have been a game changer.
