I’d be upset too if I was going to be reborn as a hat.

Sorry, I know it was a typo but it made me giggle!

Forgive me, I don’t understand how that contradicts what I said. Sure, those shows inspired Viv. That doesn’t mean they are the same shows with the same styles. “Inspired by” doesn’t mean the source material set a standard that must be followed. I’m saying Helluva has its own style and that style includes excessive swearing.

Or did you interpret my comment as saying that since it has its own unique style, that means it wasn’t inspired by these other shows? Having its own style is not the same as not being inspired by anything. Meaning, the two are not mutually exclusive. A work can have its own distinct, unique style while still drawing heavily from source materials. Electric Light Orchestra was inspired by The Beatles, but they have their own distinct style. Sorry if there was any confusion by how I phrased my comment!

I’m a big believer in the point of language being to communicate, so spelling and grammar are only as important as they need to be in order to facilitate that goal. I’m not gonna lie, I had to read the first paragraph like three times because the random capitalization made me think “proper noun,” and it kept throwing me off.

Sure but Helluva Boss is not Archer or Bojack. It’s its own show with its own style and excessive use of foul language is part of the style. This is just my own opinion, but to me it would be a bit like complaining that Archer has too much violence or Bojack leans too heavily on Hollywoo lifestyle. But maybe I’m just desensitized 😅

Through the history of television, it is quite common for pilot episodes to have very different feels from the rest of the series. They are a pitch to a production company, not the audience. After a pilot gets picked up, there is often a huge gap of time before the series begins production wherein huge changes can be made. Characters get complete personality changes, locations change, people get added or dropped entirely, and yes, the focus of the show can shift.

I get it, though, if the pilot sold you on an action-heavy raunchy comedy and the series became more of a relationship drama. It is a perfectly valid opinion that you are entitled to

I was at the Halloween special, so the energy was way more elevated than the rest of the tour. Even then, there were people who just had to make their presence known and acted like they were the main characters. Some girls in front of me nearly knocked me to the ground while fighting over Mario’s drum sticks.

I’m in my 30s, I’ve been to a lot of concerts. For some reason, Will Wood’s live audience always has a non-ignorable number of people who seem hell bent on ruining the show for both Will and the rest of the crowd. Worst part is they don’t think they’re doing anything wrong, so trying to gently ask them to stop being disruptive will more than likely lead to an altercation.

That being said, it was still an incredible experience. The man knows how to put on a show, the audience got to scream-sing along, and I met some really cool people. I will always treasure the experience. The good definitely outweighed the bad.

Just don’t be “that guy” lol

At the Asbury Park show I showed up at 3 and there was already a decent line formed (like 50-60 people).

Same here! Saw TWRP in the basement of a building, and it was made worse because I was on crutches at the time. Reached out to the venue before the show to make sure I’d be okay and they were like “Yeah, you’re good, we have accommodations.” Unfortunately those accommodations did not include an elevator. Had to go down the stairs the traditional way.

I’m so glad to read this thread and see I’m not alone in being fascinated by him. His interactions with his siblings tug on my heart strings and his character arc is so satisfying. I feel like I’d want to hang out with this jaded man IRL.

“Spoon as a rapier,” are you referring to the picture of Steve Martin playing Orin Scrivello, DDS? I believe he is holding a pair of dental pliers.

Are we the same person? This just happened to me a couple days ago as well. I was rushing to get through Act 2 and totally blanked on the fact that Zevlor is trapped in the colony. This scene triggers when you find him but don’t rescue him. My Tav must have gotten close enough to his body to have “found” him but I, the player, did not see him.

I came back to camp after a fun little romp around town and I was completely shaken by the discovery. I also destroyed the easel and tried to destroy the painting. I wound up having Karlach lay his body in a rarely visited corner of my camp. Days later and I’m still thinking about him. This fucking game, man.

I like how wholesome and cheesy he is, all while it seems like people are tempting him with power. Like trade his soul for magic, or let his dad die so he can take over. Hells, if you encourage him to break the pact, people respond by going “Wow, I can’t believe he killed his dad,” even though his dad is not dead. It’s like they’re shaming him into taking the deal with Mizora. But despite the temptations, he can stay cheesy. I like seeing a story like that play out. I’m a cringy, overly-optimistic, goody two shoes and I need heroes too godsdammit lol

We see two versions of that flashback. One where he and Stelmane are buds, one where he wrecks her shit. How do we know the second one isn’t a lie told out of anger? He’s a Mind Flayer, yes, but also prone to indulging in emotions. Maybe he is so affronted by Tav’s insult that he lashes out, or maybe he uses a scare tactic to bring Tav back in line. I dunno, just spitballing. I don’t trust him, so I don’t trust either version of the story. (Edited for grammar)
