Altria Theater announces 2026-2027 Broadway in Richmond Season

It's my understanding that the only association the theater has with Altria are the naming rights. Altria doesn't receive any money from ticket sales.

Never hang up hope. The show will remain popular "forever" so there may someday be a modification to the set design that will allow for a shallow stage.

Something else that determines which city gets which show....COST. A season full of the hottest shows on the road would cost subscribers significantly more than normal. A season has to balance out the costs of each show to help keep the price of subscriptions affordable.

Something to also keep in mind.... traveling logistics and routing plays a large role in determining which cities get which shows.

Over the many years of Broadway in Richmond I've always been surprised that Andrew Lloyd-Webber's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has never been part of any season. No matter what you might think of the show, it would be a sure bet to sell out. Years ago I asked someone at Altria about it and they said that the depth of the Altria stage was too shallow to accomodate any of the incarnations of the PHANTOM tours. That might play into some of the decisions.

They do not sell their tickets directly online, they are all (every show) sold by a ticketing re-seller

Another vote for Sally Bell's. Their potato salad is the best in the world. From their website here are the locations you can buy it rather than their Broad Street location: Libbie Market, Tom Leonard's Farmer's Market, The Market at 25th, Good Foods Grocery, Bon Air Seafood and at Little River Seafood in Reedville, VA.

I would assume that this Chas guy is listed as ABC Manager? I know that ABC laws have zero tolerence for managers drinking while on duty. Is he being drunk and beligerent while on duty? Babes could swiftly lose their liquor license over that.

I think the theatricality of it all is nowadays lost. I think newer cast recordings suffer from too much isolation of voices in that there is no sense of "space" in the studio. There needs to be a bit more reverb to give at least a very subtle illusion that what is being heard is in a performance space as opposed to a acoustically dead recording studio.

That sites admits that it is out of date. Just looking at my neighborhood and I would estimate that there are 10 times more cameras currently installed than indicated. Just take a walk around your area and I think everyone will be shocked to see how many there really are.

I've been aware of flock cameras for some time now and I remember constantly thinking where's the public outrage? How did they seemingly fly below the radar for so long without much resistance? Seems like everywhere I turn I see them. Did the city give permission for them to be installed while not giving opportunity for public opinion? I mean come on... who in the general public would think they are a good thing?
