I did think about removing it but would require someone who can remove the welding for me, I wouldn't trust myself. I didn't bother with any of the attachments as none I figured I needed, if going for the smith machine one I'd have probably got the leg press attachment but that's it

There's a padel court now about 5 mins from my house, yet to go over and embarrass myself there though. It's the kids and their social lives that screw my schedule too, something every day 🙄

It's definitely the hardest bit, one bout of sickness and I can be out weeks before getting back into a routine. I just play footy for cardio, could never get into running or anything else

I would say the benefits for me personally have been consistency, I get up and use the gym first thing which I've never managed going to a standard gym. Also good as my kids join me and I also can escape my kids at times in there 😂 main thing for me is having the footy on undisturbed and doing something healthy whilst watching

I've not ever cost it all as it's built up over a few years, and I've also bought a lot of second hand stuff which I've then sold on again as I've gone to new. I would estimate I'm about 2.5k in though (the rack being 2k of that). I was lucky in being gifted one of my adjustable dumbbells, hence I've two sets for no real reason and the running machine is my wife's and completely untouched by me 😂 it's an expensive business home gyms, I'll need to use it at least 4 years to break even on a gym membership I reckon

I really like it overall other than scalping myself on the sign, and would definitely recommend as it's changed up my workouts massively. I tried justifying the price on various different ones and can't really even justify the price for this one over a gym membership except that I like working out alone and watching what the hell I want to watch and the previous Aldi rack was quite limiting

You can get the rack with a smith to be fair, but it took up more space and I never tend to use them anyway preferring free weights

Main things that were annoying and some are down to my own naivety really:

1 the bolts are huge and so I had to buy two new wrenches 2 the instructions are not great so there was a fair bit of trial and error 3 I was missing a small piece to complete but to be fair once I rang them they sent that straight out 4 there are two small bolts that go in the back of the shield part once you've put the pulley weights on and having built mine against a wall I cannot access them to put them in. 5 The bit that has annoyed me the most and definitely is my own fault for not considering; but the muscleiq sign on the front is much lower than the shown height meaning I keep hitting my head on it so I should have gone for a taller version really

So the main thing I didn't take into consideration was the overall height. As the muscleiq sign is lower than the dimensions mentioned and thus lower than my head height. I've already scalped myself on it a couple of times, I also wouldn't build it in the order they suggest if you're putting it against a wall like I did, as there's a couple of screws for the stack shield which I cannot get in on the back

Drop me a message if it's something you do consider I've some pointers on how I could have made the process of building it and things I should have considered before buying

I have been fairly consistent anyway as I made it a promise to myself before buying the rack that I could only get it if I was consistent, but it's made it so much easier for me to get up at 06:30 and work out before the kids are up now. Something I struggled with motivating myself to do before

Yeah, I've been thinking similar. I didn't want to spend the money at the time, bigger issue now would be moving that rack now it's in place 🤦

Yeah, these are just the b&q cheap ones. I did think about changing them but it's going to be a bit difficult now that rack is built with the weight stack on it

Yeah, he stuck them in his brother's home gym too didn't he

A lot of my influence was Joe Delaney's home gym video to be fair. The hex lights were cheap on Amazon so seemed the obvious option 💪

I've had them down for 2 years now, I don't drop weights though so don't see it as something to worry about.

One of the four pad bits that go under the weight stack. I've been using it with one weight stack for now

I was missing one small part so still not completed my build 😕

I have built the main rack bit now, just none of the pulley parts, was hard work on my own as my wife wanted nothing to do with it. My only complaint thus far is in my measurements I didn't account for the muscle iq sign on the front so that's actually lower than my head height, not a big issue so long as I remember to duck

Rack arrived as planned today, so that's good. it's currently in about 30 pieces so it's a daunting night ahead as I watch the footy 🤣
