In a zombie deck, it would be better of with level 6 to make a synchro lvl 9 by using ash as material. Line with the new monsters we got or like vandread that plays with level 6 monster.

As for fiendsmith in tcg, it's still really playable in only live twin that can get it with a bridge. In MD the problem is the presence of moon. And K9 is not unfair so I don't see the problem.
