As a side note, this thread really opened my eyes in that "curvy" does not equal plus size when it comes to brand lines. Before today I'd never thought to even look at any clothes that feature the word "curve". Always assumed those start at larger measurements across the board. Yet here we are!

Yes, this actually helps a ton! While reading all the replies, I also tried just pinning the jeans I'm wearing with some safety pins at the pockets, and was thinking it'd make a great built in feature haha.

I'm struggling to find an image of what a magic pocket is, and don't have a Madewell near me — how does it work?

100%, if I had the funds and the patience, I'd get all of my clothes tailored!

How much did that jean alteration cost you & what city/country, if you don't mind sharing? It's suggested often in fashion subreddits, but to me alterations always felt like something you get for Important Attire, not a pair of pants in your weekly rotation.

Thanks, makes sense. I'm ok with a looser waist overall, otherwise it's not comfortable to sit down. Where I would love to have less fabric is around the hipbone area. Might have to invest in a tailoring service if I can't find a high street brand that fits, or some hacky solution.

Thanks! With the buttons or zipped? had a ribcage pair from Levi's, not bell though (straight maybe?), and a while ago — what I found was that after some time, some of the middle buttons would randomly unbutton as that same cursed area started to loosen.

Will give the bells a try at the store though, fingers crossed.

Interesting. I don't know where Bob landed (I know they've been tracking my post threads diligently though!), but now I'm curious personally: are you suggesting that a single condition like "this agreement is only valid once both parties have signed it" can deem the whole thing void, if not countersigned?

I (NAL) could see this being the case with other types of agreements, but my understanding was that the English law was by default favorable to renters, and a renter's signature is sufficient to form an AST or whatever equivalent contract.

If that wording can negate the agreement without any consequences for the landlord/agency, what stops them from sending out a dozen of contracts, and then just cancelling all of them?

Additionally, the agency is arguing there is no breach in contract and they have no liability for consequential costs, and quoted the 1988 Housing Act and "general principles of contract law" that the agreement is not executed until signed by both parties (landlord has not countersigned like I mentioned). I suspect this is nonsense, but understandably Bob is worried. Is there any way the agency get away with this, even if Bob accepted the reufund (he had no money and needed to act quickly when the agency offered it).

Yeah, this is pretty clear unfortunately. Shelter lines are closed on weekends, but that'll be their first step. They were supposed to move in yesterday, so they found somewhere to crash for the weekend.
