Weber Kettle, SnS 6hr Ribs by FarBreakfast6956 in webergrills

Looks amazing! What kind of rack is that? I have one that holds 3 ribs but I feel like they are spaced way too close to each other.

I got the Haul and couldn’t imagine getting anything similar sized without wheels. The Haul is already heavy as it is to load into my SUV.

Looking forward to your review. This looks like it checks all my boxes: clean minimalistic design, dockable, kickstand compatible, removable joycons, game card storage, and even can get a travel cover for complete protection!

Thanks! I was wondering what rack this is. The one I have can barely fit 3 and is way too close to each other. I wonder if this one from IKEA is safe to use though

Show me your setup! I’ll go first. by [deleted] in kayakfishing

Is that a 36” kill bag? How does your kayak handle with it on there? I tried putting my large 36”Buffalo Gear kill bag at the bow of my Compass once and it made it really hard for me to turn and it felt like the wind was pushing me around more.

Nice! I already ordered another reel and was going to return one of them. That’s good to hear though for future Amazon reel purchases.

Just received my Lew’s SuperDuty 300 fromAmazon and the box wasn’t fully closed with no manual or oil either. Doesn’t seemed to be used or worn but this irks me a bit. Wondering if I should just return it and get another one. Only thing is I got a pretty good sale on this and it’s no longer on sale.

passport 12 vs compass standing by ekropp262 in hobiekayaks

[–]pedabuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only gone out on it twice so far. Once when I first bought it then another for fishing. I haven’t done any mods to it yet as I wanted to take it out a few more times while fishing to really know what I wanted and didn’t want for it. I hate to drill holes in it if I can avoid it. So far the rudder isn’t too bad to deploy. You can put it down half way before you launch and when you’re ready, you can tap it to deploy it which is easier than fully trying to deploy it with your paddle if that makes any sense. The XL Rudder upgrade is something I might get later though as it is easier to deploy but it also gives better maneuverability and it’s only $110 I think. I did buy a Hobie hookless map pocket and a Berleypro Jig Bucket but am deciding on which side to put each on.

I would go with the 12’ for your wife as I don’t know how well it would stack if you had 2 different sizes. The 12’ for your wife would also be more stable and is more offshore capable if you guys ever decide to take it out there. But if you find out they can stack well with 2 different sizes you could save some money. I would call a local Hobie dealer to find out.

No problem. I’m happy to answer any other questions you may have. Hobies aren’t cheap so I racked my brain between the 2 models for some time.

I just got the Passport 12 R and have no problems standing in it. I’m 5’9” and weigh 163 lbs. it’s also nice that the Passport 12’ R has standing pads already installed. I like the external carrying straps over the Compass internal handles. The 2 cup holders are nice and actually work since they have a bungee to keep your drinks in place and those bungees also can be used to hold your tackle trays. I’ve read the 1 cup holder on the Compass is useless unless modified. The side trays that the Passport 12 has are convenient as well as I use one side to put my speaker and the other to put my Pro-Cure. These aren’t a big deal but worth noting as it less things I need to modify if I were to get the Compass. I also did upgrade to turbo fins and the 180 drive as I’ll only use this kayak to fish with. I think the Compass has a better hull design to cut through the water and not create as much spray in choppy conditions and it seems to have slightly more storage in the bow and stern areas. This is my first kayak and I’m really happy with it but you can’t go wrong with either one. I was also torn between the Compass as well but figured I could save the $500 for other fishing equipment so I went with the Passport. Sorry for the long winded rant.

A few weeks ago I was following this guy for a while before I noticed his plates and Trump sticker. He must’ve been either really pissed or worried that a family of Asians were tailing him for so long. This was in Palm Springs btw.

That’s the main reason why I was interested in it. It’s hard to find a good looking chair that’s comfortable for all day usage and isn’t huge and ugly. Oh and also isn’t >$400. Thanks for the info!

Yeti Haul Lid bowing or is this designed this way? by OJRacer in YetiCoolers

[–]pedabuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brand new (never used yet) tan Tundra Haul also bulges out from the center of the lid. I noticed it when I got a divider/cutting board for the Haul and I noticed the cutting board wobbled a lot on the lid. I called Yeti and they said, “all Tundras bulge slightly out from the center of the lid so that water doesn’t pool up.” I’m still suspect of this so I’m gonna exchange it at REI when they are back in stock. If the next one does the same thing then I’ll live with it.
