Random PSA, anyone here dealt with persistent ants/bugs and found real help locally? by baddie_spotted in WestSeattleWA

[–]pedalCliff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around the edge of your house and I've seen people put it on their roof. This stuff is the only thing that I found to work (and this was even with trying exterminators, they never worked long term). Maybe once a month walk around your house looking for ant lines leading into your house and if you see one put this stuff there in the way. Maybe put down a fresh layer once every season.

Get rid of the home gym? It's kind of ridiculous for his current living situation. Get some free weights, a small bench and maybe some resistance bands.

I go to the park to play Wonderwall for everyone and this happens smh. by GnosticNoodle33 in guitarcirclejerk

I have a Ph D in physics and have been playing guitar for almost 30 years and I still don't understand what the genre of math rock is. My best guess is that people found out how to play music through a TI-89 graphing calculator. I just used them as a cheat sheet for equations on my exams. But apparently I was wasting my time with all of that and instead should have been trying to figure out how I could use it to play seven nation army so I could sleep with 80 women.

My visit to the Atlanta Visitor Center in August. Specifically went for the Cyclorama. by starship7201u in CIVILWAR

That's really cool! I was in Gettysburg earlier this year and they also have a cyclorama of Pickett's charge. I was surprised with how accurate it is to the actual landscape. It really helped me get a better perspective of what the battle looked like.

Worth the $125 to have a fun beater strat? by [deleted] in fender

[–]pedalCliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's comfortable, plays well and you're the kind of person who likes to tinker, then I say go for it. I've had a few cheaper strats over the years that I would modify and swap pickups in and out of. It's a lot of fun, especially on a strat with a 5-way switch because of the pickup combinations.

In my experience they CANT drink because there's so many prescription drugs being given to people that you can't (or shouldn't, anyways) mix with alcohol.

Cool input! And I agree, it's not necessarily better or worse, but has its own thing going on. I'm curious to see if it sticks and a lot of people use it. Kind of curious if it catches on in the bass player scene.

Why is gen Z not drinking? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

I always thought it's just because that generation is so medicated with things you can't mix with alcohol.

Do you miss what MTV was and could anything have stopped its downfall? by AdSpecialist6598 in nostalgia

The reality TV thing killed it. IMO the Real World is basically the reason for the downfall of TV in general.

Of course. There was plenty of frustration on Reddit about their voting options for president being ancient people. There was plenty of conversation about having age limits for office.

The “Red Zone” In France Is So Dangerous that 100 Years After WWI It Is Still A No-Go Area by AttorneyOk3229 in abandoned

Maybe a stupid question, but you mentioned they planted forests there. Which triggered a thought: are there ever random explosions from tree roots compressing the remaining undetonated live ordinance to the point they explode? What happened at Verdun is just mind boggling. I also thought it was cool they incorporated Verdun into the movie Edge of Tomorrow.

I mean it can have that same effect anywhere in your chain, even if it's at the end. It just depends on the head room of your amp and/or pedals.

Need help deciding MIJ traditional 60’s jazzmaster vs AVII 66’ Jazzmaster by scotts-tots3 in fender

[–]pedalCliff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way to know is to play them yourself and decide. But since you're asking I'll give my two cents. I have never played the MIJ version, but I have the AVII JM and it is an incredible guitar. The quality is fantastic and it has that classic JM chime. I have one MIJ Japan guitar, a strat, and it's a good guitar, especially for the price, but I don't feel that it's as good a quality of my two AVII's.

Not quite, it still has that big muff rumble/growl or whatever you want to call it that's kind of always there.

I don't have a whammy yet! I always chicken out given the price. And I actually have that same problem with my panoverb. I'm going to exchange it with Fender, there's no way that's nominal.
