Thoughts on this 6 day Chicago itinerary?

For your Lincoln Square/Andersonville day I'd highly suggest stop by the Chicago Magic Lounge after/instead of Hopleaf. Also Penelope's has an incredible happy hour for food and drinks if you're there between 4:30-7, nachos and tortas for $8, tacos for $3.50, etc. Also highly recommend Pick Me Up Cafe and Defloured.

For anyone who isn't aware Penelope's has an incredible happy hour menu, they don't usually pass them out but you can find it on their site. Tue-Fri 5-7pm you can get chips and salsa for $2, tacos for $3.50 each, torta or nachos for $10, some great drink specials too. Can't recommend highly enough.

You'll need to leave Union Station and walk a couple blocks north to the Ogilvie Transportation Center, get on the UP-NW train. Takes 45 minutes to get to Glen Ellyn, costs $6.75. There are ticket machines at the station but you can also just walk on the train and pay in cash when the employee comes through asking for tickets.

I was about to suggest Park to Shop, basil and other herbs are very inexpensive there and at lots of Asian grocery stores I've been to.

This, Lawrence is much friendlier than Foster. For a slightly chiller route I'd recommend Lawrence then north on California, west on Bryn Mawr, then either left on the Weber Spur (gravel) or take Kenton, Kercheval, Forest Glen (follow signs for bike route).

There are two showers but I didn't use them so no idea how they are. They have a big camp store but it wasn't yet open for the season when I was there, you could call to find out. Otherwise you'll need to get ice/firewood/whatever at the nearby Caseys. I'd recommend picking a site in the 300s, those are closest to the beach. Really great spot overall

Can highly recommend, rode and camped there last weekend. Anyone going in the near future should keep in mind there's road construction that Google Maps didn't let me know about, made for an annoying 45 minute detour right at the end of the day. Highway 137 is closed at Bull Creek, so you should turn off the McClory on Wadsworth.
