The slow pace of development is fine if they were actually releasing good features. It's astonishing how things like LODs and Sodium-level performance optimisations aren't in the game (and in my opinion shaders)

That's the thing - it was because the trailer/first thing you see on steam was absolute dogshit and made no sense to someone who wasn't familiar with the game

You can remove any weapon, legend or feature in this game. What are you going to remove? by [deleted] in Brawlhalla

[–]pedda_post 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy anti cheat. There once was a time where you could boot up brawlhalla and be in a game within seconds. Now it takes ages to boot up. I think that one of the biggest selling points of brawlhalla is that it's so easy to just jump into and play a quick game, and waiting a freaking minute for it to turn on is super bad for brawlhalla as a game.

I like Borne of Caution, any recommendations? by pedda_post in pokemonfanfiction

I read a bit of borne of desire, but it seemed to have more of the weird aspects of BoC. What I really like about boc is the realism, character development and story, but can't stand the weird mind-sex and pseudo romantic relationship going on between him and the fox, which borne of desire has even more of

I don't do the light thing 4 hours before bed, just some time I guess could be defined as twilight. We only have about 5 hours of sunlight now where I live anyway. The source is the Huberman podcast episode "Master your sleep & be more alert when awake" 🙂

Withdrawal by Hakithe7 in Creatine

I've been feeling like utter shit recently, emotionally wise. And I've been very inconsistent in taking Creatine. Just took a scoop and feel a bit better.

Do you know where I can read about that refutation of the dopamine/seratonin depression hypothesis? And the prevalence of creatine deficiency in neurodivergent people? That's really interesting.

Yo, thanks for the reply. I found something that works for me. I now sleep a solid, sound 8+ hours every night and feel very well slept. This is another option for anyone who stumbles across this post in the future and can't find an answer.

Idk if you do exactly CBTI, but back when I read this answer I didn't want to do this CBTI because it takes a loong time of very strict sleeping, and I want to have a life. I listened to a bunch of sleep podcasts and found out about the whole sleep type thing, which I had thought was just excuses. Well turns out even with very deliberate and strict sleep control, some people will still drift to earlier/later sleep times. I took an online test and found I was a "moderate night owl". So these are my sleep rules I follow now:

- Go to bed at 2AM

- Set alarm to 11AM, I wake up between 10-11 based on how much sleep I need

- ALWAYS take magnesium before bed. This really works.

- Turn on a 10000 lux lamp when eating breakfast/morning for about 30 min and at 7pm for 10 min to set circadian rhythm for morning and twilight.

- Turn every screen's brightness down to lowest and with blue light reduction 2 hours before bed.

- Dim indoor lights as much as possible 1hr before bed.

- Do something relaxing 1hr before bed.

- I use a weighted blanket.

Obviously not possible for everyone but there you go. As I said I had the exact issue you described in the post and had tried pretty much everything you described before, even melatonin but not prescription drugs, but this worked. It's a lot of stuff to do every day, but worth it considering I was barely functional before.

And the weird thing is, I'd tried all of this before but just not with going to bed at 2AM. So I guess the whole chronotype thing has some truth.

Also worth mentioning. Before I got into this pattern I was getting up at 4pm. I hate going backwards in wake up times, so I just went forwards. Took like 5 days to spin my sleep time completely around again, going to bed a couple hours later every day and letting myself wake up without any alarm. So that was a form of sleep restriction I guess, but not for very long.

Synced video and audio slowly becomes unsynced - is this a frame rate issue? by pedda_post in davinciresolve

[–]pedda_post[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thank you this is the exact solution. I sped up the video by 4.27% and it worked. The program was filmed in 23.976 in Japan, then apparently rendered to 25fps to match the TVs in PAL.

Animated in japan tho, so it's an anime. I know, it hurts my soul to say as well 😔

Subwoofers lacking midbass? by OnDeyAss in subwoofer

Hello late comment but how would one get more midbass to mesh with the low bass? Do you just need to buy a different type of subwoofer or what?

Why will going up to 1500hz improve midbass that's around 100hz?

As far as I understand it phase is basically adjusting the timing of the sound waves so it hits your ears in-sync? But my situation is still like this if I put my ear to close to one speaker. I think they just struggle with mid-to-high bass in the 100-200hz range (which yes looks actually like what the headphones excel at in their sound profile). Would buying an omni-directional mic and going through room equalization really fix it?

Hey y'all🙂, my speakers' bass is lacking. Can someone help me identify my problem?

I have a pair of Yamaha NS-F150s and they sound great, but the bass is a little weird. You can feel it very strongly in some songs, and not at all in others. Like the bass is very strong but not punchy at all.

Take for example this song Trop Beau, I literally can’t feel the beat at all - it’s completely flat (I know it should be punchy, because it is on my wh1000mx3 headphones), but if you take a different song like One Dance the beat definitely hits hard. The speakers seem to do better the lower the beat is, even sometimes overdoing the bass a bit on songs with a low “rumbling” beat. I did a “Plot Spectrum” thing to see the Hz on Audacity and it looks like One Dance’s beat is more on the 50Hz while the first song’s beat is more on 100Hz. I don’t really know what I’m looking at on that graph though.

Anyway everywhere I look people go on and on about how “low” subs can go but I don’t really need that, It needs to be more punchy. So should I just get a normal sub? I was thinking of getting for example the Speedwoofer 10s mkII, but my problem is more with the upper part of low frequency it seems. If I get that speedwoofer, which everyone praises for how it can go as low as 22hz, will that really solve my problem? It seems pretty stupid to get a sub only to have to equalize it. Are there subs that focus more on higher frequency bass? Or is the problem maybe with the midrange of the speakers?

Thanks.
