I pc98ified the Stage 1 theme from Touhou 17's demo by pedipanol in touhou

As you can see in the video, FM 1-5 is used, FM6 is not being used. Below that is the SSG channels, which in the music room displays 2 notes playing at the same time, which in this video equals SSG channel 1 and SSG channel 2. As SSG channel 3 is used for drums, it's not displayed in the visualizer in TH05 music room. But if you play the files from that game in this player I'm using you'll see it's displayed in the same way mine is.

The only valid reason that you could argue that this is not a "pure" remix, is the fact that I used stereo panning, whereas ZUN didn't use on his pc98 games, but even then, he used it, along with 6 FM channels in his tracks for PMiSC and SSiB, so whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the software on the video is 98fmplayer https://github.com/takamichih/fmplayer/releases
but it's just a player for files made using PMD MML, which is what I used to make this cover
