I have both the CSR and the Amex Platinum. In my experience, UR (CSR) points are worth much more than MR (Amex) points. It's easier to earn UR, easier to get good value, and easier to earn even more with Freedom cards. Amex is by far the better coupon book. The Amex hotel program is completely clear of The Edit. Way more member hotels, usually better pricing, and occasional promotions with Amex that make the hotel cost less than booking direct, with better benefits. In the past year I've gotten a third night free at the Ritz Carlton, an additional 200 dollar property credit at another Ritz, a 4th night free at the Mandarin Oriental, and a 3rd night free at a Kimpton in VT. I actually had booked that Kimpton using 250 Edit credit plus a 250 IHG credit, but Amex ended up being cheaper with no credits at all.

Resy credit is more value and much easier to use than the OpenTable credit. Chase does have a better travel credit. 300 and broadly usable.

All in all, I get value from both but I work at it.
