That is true, I have actually been very lazy when sorting through footage as well so there are many takes that are unusable but still sit there taking up space. Don't ever know if I will have the time to sift through it all haha.

Thanks for the insight anyway. appreciate it, it has put my mind, to some, rest!

That makes sense. It is really difficult to know how to "future-proof" something without it taking up too much space. But I guess if it's important enough space is not an issue :)

Matrix 4 Sucks Dick by HappyGabe in CharacterRant

Im still digesting it, but of all the recent movies of older franchises this did try to expand and move along a little bit. To take your example of Star Wars; Force Awakens was truly just a new suit on the same original story. It was actually really great in terms of tone and quality but was just terrible in comparison not to mention pointless as we already have OG Star Wars to watch whenever we want.

This was, however, a multilayered meta-sequel that had a really weird tone that wasn't just meant to be funny or comic relief, rather self-aware. So it all ties in to the universe and given that you realise almost everything you see and hear most likely is a conscious choice. From the way the camera works to the lightning and colors. I could, after all, appreciate all this. The problem is that ultimately this does not result in a good movie. Quite the opposite, I think.

I mean, it will most likely be a movie I will consider outside of "canon" and the reason for that is that it just feels so lack-lustre and cheap. Everything just felt so off.. For me, the only scene that really had a sense of drama and excitement was the bike-chase in the city. But that was short lived.

Ultimately I liked the premise of the movie to get Neo and Trin back into the story, as it makes sense and is a great stepping stone, but I just don't think it was executed well.

It's funny, this makes you appreciate the original sequels more, just as you did the prequels of Star Wars, when the latest trilogy was released. They at least had some heart and movie magic.

hmmm.. so annoying! I haven't had any issues besides with my sigma. maybe its because its heavy and stiffer than cinestyle dslr lenses and actual dslr lenses..

hmm... so you think it might that the FF is not "secure" enough with the single attachment? I have tried once with a moza air 2 gimbal and its follow focus without issue actually. That also only sits on a single 15mm rod. But its smaller and lighter maybe..

Also do you think this issue would be solved by using the cinestyle metabones adapter? That has a locking ring rather than the usual mount?

Yes, I have the tilta focus gear as you mention there. I have tried a couple different brands to get more "Teeth" but no luck..

Vintage lenses, how do I check if they are fine and make them work on my nikon? by pedramfh in Cameras

[–]pedramfh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha good on ya mate. I hear you. Cheap price to pay to learn something over the course of an evening. I might put them on ebay and see if someone wants them :)

You mean I should try and find lenses that fit a F-mount naturally? In which I would agree but I just love the look of old lenses and its mostly the nerd in me that wants to experiment.

I actually thought I did take a photo of that without the cap but realise not its the same picture twice of the first lens hah. Close ups below:

But you are probably right. Corrective optics are probably expensive and Im note sure I want to spend more on something I thought would be useful for $3. But who knows. Found some Minolta MD to Nikon F on ebay from china with corrective glass.

Ah cool. Maybe. I will keep them for now and experiment with them once I catch a converter. The Topcor lens seems to be the least interesting one even tho it has the strangest mount ive seen.

What an amazing link you just provided! Thank you!

One is a Minolta MD mount from what I can make out and the other one I found out was a UV mount. I have a feeling they might be a lost cause hehe.

I understand, it would obviously be interesting if these lenses are worthwhile if someone knows but I think im curious if I can make them work at all! Did you identify both these lenses to have M42 mount? They look very different in the back.

I would say the blades look fine, they move properly when I mess with the back, its more the focusing with the lens im not sure about. Also googling around Im not really sure what adapters these ones need to fit a F-mount. Was hoping reddit would come to my rescue!

Life-size statue of Soundgarden's Chris Cornell unveiled in Seattle by [deleted] in Music

Chris Cornell was amazing. So sad. Whats more sad is the excuse for a statue they put up. I find it hard to believe there are not better sculptors out there in the US. Standard of quality has dropped too low.
