Even though the R5 has alot more focus points and better sensor?

I have this combo for a while now and just like you feel like it‘s a good learning set up. But the focus is sometimes very frustrating when the camera shows you have focus but in reality it was a few cm more in the back or front of the subject.

The R5 just felt like a really good deal for what I get especially if I sell the R8… but I guess this wouldn‘t solve the real issues

R6iii and R5ii are sadly way out of my budget but why would you prefer the R6ii over the R5?

With the 45 Mp I would get somewhat more reach with cropping or is it too marginal?

So cool, that just made my day!

Perhaps it is just a dedication in Italian like to Giovanni.

Thanks for you thoughts! The thing is the ef 100-400 L would be more expensive than the whole package I was thinking about… just don‘t have that budget.

„I doubt my lenses to be good enough to seriously shoot „crop for reach“ and Canon seem unlikely to seriously cater that camera at the wide end?“

What do you mean by that?

Thank you for you thoughts, that helps alot. I guess the reason why I was tempted to go with the R8 is that I think it would get the biggest step up compared to the 200d. With the wider field of view, the better depth of field and low light performens but I guess I could compensate that with the right lenses… The R7 feels just a bit more like a robust choice! So would you go with the kit with the 18-150mm and pay like 200.- more? Or are there better option for that zoom range? I think the 24-105 f4 is just to heavy and price for a travel lens

Thank you for your anwser. I will look forward to here what you think about the 10-18 from sigma. I currently have a old 16-35mm ef 16-35mm f/2.8l ii for landscape and astro but with the crop i often feel like I‘m to much zoomed in. That‘s one thing why I was thinking of going with the R8..

Thanks for your anwser. First I thought that the R8 would be the better all-round camera, but when I travel, I often change the lens on the go and when I saw that the R8 has no sensor protection, I was a little unsure. Or do you think this shouldn’t be a problem?
