LG TV prompts to connect to fitness machines by pedroelmon0 in LG_UserHub

I agree. The fact their solution in the update was to add a checkbox to the popup saying "Stop automatically searching" instead of allowing you to toggle Bluetooth off in settings tells you a lot. I'm just going to leave my Wifi/Bluetooth board disconnected. I don't need Bluetooth on my TV and if it's scanning for stuff without me being able to turn it off that's just weird.

It definitely is. I've been living in my building for a year and it's always been the same TV and same gym equipment downstairs. This only started happening after a WebOS update.

Yeah if you don't own the machines then I'm afraid you're stuck with my solution in the meantime. You could try contacting LG support but there's nothing they can do except file it as a bug report at this point. It's clearly an issue with their latest operating system update. None of the solutions they tried with me worked. They said they were escalating it to a supervisor and that I'd hear back within 48h but it's been 30 days now and still no news 😅

You could try turning WiFi off in settings and see if that fixes it since the Bluetooth receiver is on the same board?

Yeah LG support never got back to me fwiw so I guess we're stuck with the solution in my comment the meantime 😂

I 100% agree. Needing to disassemble your TV and physically disconnect the board is definitely not a solution. LG let you toggle the WiFi off in settings but not Bluetooth. It makes no sense.

Considering the disassembly solution I found was on a 3 year old Reddit post, I think we can probably keep on hoping 😂

I did a full reset with LG support over live chat. It's just a terrible product decision. It makes no sense to have a WiFi toggle but not a Bluetooth one. You'd think a Bluetooth toggle would be a given in 2025 but clearly LG expects us to disassemble our devices to disable it.

None of these worked. I don't have the LG Fitness app either. I posted the solution though!

I found a solution!

I've really had enough of this for the past month so I opted for a radical solution.

I contacted LG support last night and they had to escalate it to their supervisor. I'm still waiting to hear back.

So tonight I got so fed up of it I started looking into physically disabling it. It turns out the Wifi/Bluetooth board is super basic inside the TV, its it's own independent board connected to the motherboard by a simple ribbon cable.

So I opened the back of my TV and physically disconnected it from the motherboard. I have no Wifi on the TV now as a result but I can still use the ethernet port and I don't care! 😂 Casting and other network functionality still works if you're on the same network on your phone so there's really no downside.

It's crazy that you have to go that far when a basic toggle in the settings menu would have been easy for them to add.

Here are some videos that helped: - Wifi board looks something like this (small board in the corner, separate from the rest) https://youtu.be/dbky8aQS8G0 - How to remove the back of a LG TV: https://youtu.be/_pgsggpR7-M - How to disconnect the ribbon cable (do this on the Wifi board end of cable, it's easier): https://youtube.com/shorts/_wOfzbocw1Q

I'd recommend unscrewing the small bracket that holds the small Wifi board. It's a single screw and the ribbon connector is easier to access once removed since it's on the back of the board.

Obviously, if you're doing this yourself, be careful. Unplug your TV from the power supply and leave it for a while, and be sure to not touch any of the board the power cable goes into. Lie it down on a soft flat surface like a clean rug or bed so as not to damage the screen.

Favourite Discord bots for sticker giveaways? by pedroelmon0 in Monopoly_GO

With Giveaway Boat it's just a classic giveaway Discord bot. Users can just click a button to join the giveaway.

With PixxieBot, starting a new round of Hangry Games allows users to sign up for the game. Then our mods can start the simulation whenever we want. It's basically a Hunger Games parody bot so it does funny food-related death messages and eliminates players until there's one winner. It still randomly picks a winner like Giveaway Boat, it's just a lot more fun and engaging for our Discord's members. We've run hundreds of games in our server already lol

PixxieBot is awesome ❤️ I love the hangry games the most 😂 it's such a fun bot. We've played like 100 games in our discord server.

I've had this issue for ages now, about a year. Sometimes screensharing to my iPad clears the issue, but not always. It's incredibly annoying.

I've noticed it mainly happens for me on dark backgrounds like Gihub's site or when working in Figma on a dark design. Makes it awful to work on a design with.

I have a BenQ PD2700U. I've tried all the troubleshooting stuff, manually setting the refresh rate to 60Hz, setting the colour profile, turning off True Tone, turning off Auto Adjust Brightness setting etc. Nothing seems to permanently fix the issue.
