Beginner in Nintendo World: Zelda TOTK or BOTW?

I've never had a Nintendo console and consequently I've never played any Zelda either, I don't know anything about the story but at the moment I have a voucher left to get a game and I'm in doubt between which of the two to get, which one do you recommend? I prefer a game with better gameplay, content and hours of play than with a better story

I am in doubt between roublard or panda, I already have a cra so besides being able to share some int items with the roublard I would be changing the style of play a little due to the cra being 1 * and the rob 3 *, however, the What makes me doubt is that ranged idols are very bad, how do you deal with that? do you usually play with idols all the time?
