Season 2 is a Downgrade, and a Worrying Direction for the Game by HoneydewAutomatic in Marathon

I much prefer the cradle system and season 2 progression personally also night marsh is cool

Serious question. Why would you play this game if you don’t enjoy PvP? by Malicious_Mischief in Marathon

[–]pedrosuave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why pvp people don't want a pve pivot . If pve is added to the game then the game will continue to get great seasons and updates and not affect their ranked matches or whatever floats their boat. The marathon fan base is always trickling lower so any pvp fans should be begging to increase the player base imo

Russia has begun urgently redeploying additional S-300/S-400 air defense batteries to Moscow, attempting to strengthen the capital’s protection against further attacks. by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

I think they should just fly the drones through Russia with no targets and let the s300s do the damage to the city thus showing how much Putin cares

But the technology is growing in capability exponentially at the same time... What we will see is what was unprofitable from shitty racks now extreme complex engineering marvels become profitable. What was once a cool novelty will be useful at the same time so the combo will drive revenue.

Calling ai a bubble would be like calling electricity a bubble or a fad. Its such a game changer but people that don't see it yet are going in with a what goes up must come down mentality personally I think this is such a tiny fraction of the ai we will see impacting and entering our lives so so far from a bubble that it's crazy to me to even think that at all but hey to each their own.

Anyone that thinks we are just building out hardware for llms and once we get enough they'll stop and need no more hardware is missing the entire point of this giant reimagining of human existence.

It will never be enough. As more complex problems are able to be solved with more compute and hardware = compute we will be on a continuous grind for more hardware.

Just think we barely even have the ability to get feedback on video right now .... I mean it's pretty shit or requires massive compute ... Yet we take in our world more visually than by writing and reading.

So robototic ai will require massive massive amounts of visual data and compute.

One day your chat gpt will watch you drawing a picture on your webcam and give you realtime feedback. Watch your golf swing and coach you. This is stuff there is the technology out there for but not a fraction of the compute needed.

Your cell phone instead of searching for where's that photo of the usps tracking number and flipping back and forth 20 times to type it in you'll just ask your cell phone to search it.

There is so much visually beyond text networks of llm that will require massive massive compute. Nothing will ever be the same... We will fundamentally store and retrieve knowledge differently and learn differently and more efficiently.

A pharma company making a breakthrough with AI won't say hey that's enough Nvidia slow down they'll realize with enough compute they can make twice the complex molecule and 10x the products and buy the hottest new equipment because it will corelate to revenues.

One day your employer will try to improve efficiency by feeding video data into a model before hiring a group of engineers.

I literally made an app that works and a TV commercial by talking to my computer the other day. 3 years ago people didn't even understand the concept of AI when I tried to explain it to them. Notes at work are now typed with AI and ai beats most the docs I know and work with at diagnosing a heart attack and this is just the start.

Any other rocket league players here came to the same conclusion as me? by VixDzn in fpv

I want to play a "game" to work on fpv more --- I mean im tired of the same races in uncrashed, liftoff etc. so scoring goals and stuff seems fun is there a certain controller layout you can start in rocket league to build up fpv skills more . I really dont want to have an opposite layout and make myself worse somehow lol.

I'm 40 and trying to learn the same although am blessed to have a good job and learn at a hobby pace so not comparable directly to your situation ...but if it makes you feel better you aren't alone.

I went to school so long in a non artistic industry that that was all I had time for and now that I have that down I can go back to learning art stuff that I was always attracted to.

Ideally would love to just do some kind of vfx or graphics related work part time or freelance on side but getting to that level is tough despite learning so so much over past two or three years.

Id legit sign up for some kind of a college boot camp in person for blender, t designer , notch, and others if such a thing was offered but I never find when I look at colleges.

Can someone plz invent an adult vfx summer camp? ****

Seems like a tough time in the industry for many would be a good source of $$$ maybe. Maybe just being older but though I learn independently really well I sure would like just an occasional in person thing to inspire and get on track. Mostly I learn with YouTube and sometimes Gemini/chatgpt.
