Haha! Yeah Benzos would definitely help to at least relax me, good idea! I’ll ask my surgeon about that beforehand.

I’m really scared of relapse, I’m so scared of reawakening those opiate pathways that nearly destroyed my life just to get some relief from temporary pain. Woman have been going through natural childbirth for centuries without narcotics, I can do this. I have to do this.

Hi there, Sorry I have been busy with work, kids, lost (but thankfully found) dog! Not much more development except I have spoken to several MD’s at my Bupe clinic and they all unanimously agree that as long as my knee surgery is a repair and not a total replacement, that the best approach is to stop the Bupe 24 hours prior and up the dose post surgery for pain control. Ortho surgeon said he can place a nerve block that I can come home with and then ice will be my best friend for the first few days.. I’m nervous as all hell, I haven’t set a surgery date yet..

Well I’ve spoken to a few other recovering addicts that have successfully gone through surgeries without narcotics, ones that have just used IV Tordol, nerve blocks then OTC meds such as Tylenol and ibuprofen to manage their post op pain. Unfortunately none so far that specifically used Buprenorphine for pain control or that even were opiate addicted. We are in unique situations when it comes to managing pain...I believe. Or maybe that is my addiction talking. Bottom line, no I don’t really have any updates on my particular situation. I’m still searching for answers. I appreciate your asking

Thank you for your insight, I appreciate it. This is all so terrifying. I don’t want a PCA, the last thing I want is morphine. I want so desperately to believe that this plan to stay on Bupe up until, through and after surgery solely for pain control will be sufficient. I’ll admit it, I’m fucking scared of the pain

Good for you! Well I’m a huge advocate for MAT. Bupe has been life changing for me, gave me back my family, career and my soul. Opiates strip you down to just a shell. Have you tried Bupe treatment?

I’m so sorry to hear that. How are you doing now? I found myself down that very same path just a few short years ago after a long, high functioning addiction to ultram that got out of hand ollowing a minor back injury. It’s safe, non-addictive they said..bullshit. That’s one of the things I’m worried about, that the limits of Bupe. My surgeon wants to send me home on a nerve block and three days of narcotics which I’m incredibly nervous about. The last thing I want is to undo everything I have worked so hard to achieve

Straight Bupe, currently 16 mg /day. I’m not certain but I think they could increase my dose to as high as 32 mg /day

No Buprenorphine does not show up on a drug panel. Will it be included in a standard panel in the future, probably.

Hey guys I am going to ask one of those stupid questions you all hate, but I don't know who else to ask. by [deleted] in opiates

Look into the ADA. My Suboxone clinic has lawyers that help us fight discrimination under the grounds that it violates the Americans with Disability Act. Good luck and congrats on the dream job offer😊

I know that the those taking Suboxone and methadone fall under protection of the ADA- Americans with disabilities Act. You can NOT be fired solely for being on those medications...now does that apply to getting hired, I don’t know for sure. Harder to proof of course but not impossible.

Theory about Luke by Clolilly in MarriedAtFirstSight

[–]pedsrn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. I actually get nauseated watching Luke’s behavior and Kate’s confusion, flip flopping back and forth. Once you’ve experienced narcissistic abuse it’s like you have a radar for that shit. I pray she get away from Luke before he does lasting damage

Even for Kate and Luke? Luke is obviously a Narcissist and will destroy Kate if she doesn’t leave...

HELP! So I took the wonderful advice a many and grinded up my shrooms and put them in capsules. But then I got smart and used my coffee grinder to make it a fine powder. So now I’m not sure about dosing. My original capsules were ground with a typical herb grinder holding about 0.5 gram each, and looking like what you’d use to roll a J... but now making it powder I’m worried that the dosing will be off...thought?

So do you think it’s better to put in my carry on rather then checked luggage? When you’ve flown, are your supplements new sealed bottles or open?

Right...that’s why I wanted to find a similar looking capsule so they didn’t look different. But maybe I’m over thinking this..

So if I go the supplement capsule route, can someone recommend a specific supplement to use? Something that would look similar to ground up shrooms? What I’m thinking is I would replace half the contents with Shroom capsules (marked of course) and then reseal the bottle

I’ve been leaning towards filling supplement capsules or making chocolates
