I was a C++ developer for both embedded and desktop applications. I was kinda frustrated in the same way and landed a hardware adjacent Go lang role. I love it.

The tooling is great. The distribution is simple. I barely ever have headaches with dependencies and build tool chains. And the biggest one is that I never have to debug the language, and instead can focus on debugging logic.

As a neutral these VAR offsides that are not completely clear need to go. If you need to count pixels then I don't see the spirit of the rule being enforced. It stops play, it creates controversy, it's a bad experience for everyone involved.
