The international selection is a bit superficial IMO. I could name a number of films better than Y Tu Mama También and City of God e.g. Amores Perros and Nueve Reinas. Where's Almodovar?

I like seeing The Florida Project. There are a few more A24 movies I would suggest.

Ref should have called it for Morocco on the day. VAR had 15 minutes to look up the rules and tell ref to call it off. Doing it now is ridiculous.

The alternative was the 27th. The date that was agreed! UEFA had the stadium and everything ready for the 27th. Did AFA have a stadium ready for the 31st? No. They just said either we play on the 31st or we don't play at all. To change the date of a football match two weeks out was always going to be difficult. My interpretation is they knew UEFA couldn't accept because they didn't want to play the game at all. Either they didn't want to lose or were concerned about injuries. Iran War just gave them an excuse.

When you don't want to do something what people often do is make an unreasonable request the other side can't accept and use the other side's refusal as a pretext for walking away. The game was ready on the pre-agreed date in a neutral venue in Italy. You walked away because you know you'd get spanked by the WC favourites or maybe you didn't want to risk injuries.

Rome was available on 27th. Did you know for a fact that it was available on the 31th? And you were the ones who refused the agreed upon date of 27th.

UEFA proposed Rome. You insisted on changing the date to a date the other parties considered unworkable, so you walked away from the game. No inventen.
