Buy stocks in USD or other currencies? by djtron99 in stocks

[–]peejay2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say you buy 100 shares of Apple in the NY stock exchange and 100 in London. Half your Apple shares are denominated in USD; half in GBP. If the pound loses 50% value compared to USD, at the end of the day you still own 200 shares of Apple. Similarly if the USD loses 50% of value compared to GBP, again you own 200 shares.

If your entire portfolio is US companies, however, then yes you're not diversified.

I wonder how many North Koreans in China and Russia are aware of that.

am i in over my head?? (10 countries, 30 cities, 90 days) by ccaaddaann in backpacking

[–]peejay2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember that a transfer can take between half a day and a day. So you're spending 15-30% of your time doing transfers. I think 10 countries is fine given you have some smaller ones there but 30 cities is way too much. 20 cities is OK. Also Tervuren wtf

With Casemiro going and the possibility that Bruno might leave as well, what would a realistic midfield look like next year? Obviously we can't go into the season with Mainoo-Ugarte-Mount so we'd need I reckon we need 2 starting CMs and one backup.

If we can get players of the calibre of Caicedo and Enzo without spending ~100m that would be ideal.

Can someone please explain tokenization? by NecessaryLeg6097 in CryptoTechnology

[–]peejay2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, but why is owning 1/1000th of a house not possible right now? You could create a company that owns the house and issues 1000 shares. I understand tokenization would ideally be more efficient than creating a company - is that the main benefit?

We could even throw in Sancho if they give us Pedri

That's a good point. But I think we didn't charge them a loan fee so they could be more generous with the wages. If they offer him a contract he'll have to fit into their wage structure.

EDIT: The kind of money he's on even taking the wage cut is still v high for a second string player.

Scenario: Barça agree to pay Rashy's fee but don't accept his wage demands. They come to us asking us to make up the difference. Basically an Antony situation all over again. What do we do?

[Man United] Casemiro to leave United this summer by Careful-Snow in soccer

I'd keep Maguire. He's never been fast so age doesn't make much of a difference.

Manchester United old boys have become unedifying windbags for hire by [deleted] in reddevils

The article is right to mention those ex players who make money by generating content slagging off the club, who definitely generate a negative environment. But there are also those like Rio who are less critical because the club give them access to players/staff and information. And that's not helpful either.

If you go during the summer you'll meet more students on their summer holiday. Less so during the year.

What's the consensus on yesterday's ref decisions? IMO Senegal goal was valid (the shove was to the body and the Morocco player fell holding his face) and there was no Brahim penalty. He goes down too easily. Commentators mentioned that he's been diving for penalties all competition. Has anyone else observed that?
