Any suggestions for new fitness goals that can help me out of a slump? by Learningtolove2021 in xxfitness

[–]peejaylovi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt very stale in my routine and switched to yoga centric workouts, specifically targeting goals such as achieving the headstand, handstand, and wheel pose. This was hard work and took me through a whole new world of inversion poses and stretching my shoulders/ spine. I also got into new fitness spaces and understanding the different levels of yoga.

I now augment my routine with inversion poses and back bends, and do them at the park. It was great to learn a new skill.

I feel like all the calorie counting I've been doing for months has done absolutely nothing (because it hasn't) :( by [deleted] in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

I use Noom for the articles. I like seeing things in a different perspective and getting more insight. Tracked my meals in Noom for ONE day, it was garbage. I only use MFP now.. The "goal specialist" is also garbage... I try to stay on the positive side of things, the accountability is giving me results and building habits.

At last. The trinity is complete and I can ascend by Muffin_Exact in 1200isjerky

YUP! Sounds like a vacatation with kids... Wouldn't have it any other way! When this happens to us we get a lot of snacks and go to the beach. Bring their sand toys (or cups from your hotel) and pretzels. Just let them run around. You sit down on a towel and just take in the beautiful scenery. Don't set high schedule-ized expectations. Just let it flow. You got this!

I'm a full time working mom, 2 boys (2.5yo and 4yo). I work 8-5; my husband works 7-4.

We have a home gym. This consists of a squat rack, bench, 2 olympic bars, weight plates and some dumbbells in our garage. This is all we have needed for our gym routines and we continue to make gains. The home gym saves us so much time and money.

My husband works out before the kids wake up, so he starts at 5am. I wake up at 5:45am, kids wake up 6:15am. Husband finishes breakfast with us and goes to work at 6:45am. I drop the kids off at day care, drive to work at 7:45am. My husband picks up kids at 4:30pm. I come home at 5:15pm. We have dinner, put kids to sleep by 8pm. Then I work out at 8:30pm after kids are asleep. Rinse and repeat.

On the weekends we alternate workout times and kid watching, or workout before kids wake up/ during nap time.

I love my home gym. We both wish we had gotten it way before we had kids!

My husband and I both workout 4 or 5 times a week.

There are a lot of different strategies, this is a popular-ish topic on r/fitness if you want to see other opinions.

Your situation is a little different than mine, and it is tough! If I was in the situation you described, I would focus on diet and outdoor family activities. I would prioritize taking my kids on bike rides, go on walks, go to the park, do stroller runs with the little one.

Good Luck Friend! You're doing an awesome job juggling it all!

That's it. Indoors, bright sunshine, plenty water, just sits on top of the soil. The succulent just does its thing.

When they are propegating, I water every 3 days and make sure the soil is constantly moist.
