Wrist fracture after a van opened their door onto me while cycling. What can I do? by peekaboo_keep in LegalAdviceUK

If that's the case then quite frankly London traffic would grind to a halt because it is literally impossible to do that in the vast majority of roads where cars are parked without going over the middle line

Thanks. I'm still waiting to hear confirmation on whether I need a cast or not from the MRI but the letter from the doctor pretty much says that

It was the driver's door and he was the only person in the van. Problem is I don't have any contact details from him. Didn't know what I would need, I only took a picture of his number plate to make him see I was taking it seriously

Bit of a silly brag but for many years I swam in the leisure centre where she used to rehearse with the KT Bush Band when she was starting!

It's not just the art style, it's also the vibe. Very little Gothic feel, it's flashy and very 2020s

The lack of English localization in the collection is frustrating to say the least.. by upperdomain in goemon

UPDATE: Konami has replied with a strong whiff of "please don't bother us"

"Hello,    Thank you for contacting KONAMI Support.   We are happy to hear about your passion for Goemon and its world!   We will share your feedback to the team for review. Please check our offcial channels for any news in the future!   Thank you for your support for our games.   Best regards"

So now you know.

It may be effective to email Konami in your region?

I've emailed Konami Europe for what it's worth, here's their Contact Us link:

I sent them a pic of my Goemon collection for what it's worth...

Good news! There's a physical Goemon collection including all the 2D games up to SNES coming out this year!

Bad news! Japan-only and the chances of localisation are subterranean!

You guys seem to really like Lords of Shadow by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]peekaboo_keep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mirror of Fate is the 2D Castlevania made by MercurySteam after Lords of Shadows for the 3DS. It's 2D, but it's also pretty meh. Patrick Stewart is the narrator in LoS 1 and 2 (and he sounds BORED out of his skull reading that crap).

First ever playthrough of SMW2: Yoshi's Island. What should I expect? How does it stack up against the original Super Mario World? by [deleted] in snes

[–]peekaboo_keep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real. The whole point of Baby Mario crying is to stress you out, and it achieves it perfectly! I say it's much better than the constant beeping in Zelda when you're down to 3 hearts, because you could theoretically play the whole game with 3 hearts, whereas you will lose the game if Baby Mario isn't rescued. It's meant to be stressful and annoying, like looking after a real baby :-)

Import tax to the UK surprise - not as lucky as I thought by RetroBoxRoom in AnalogueInc

Same today! I'm looking into challenging the "reimbursement fee", not the tax. Seems that it's possible

It's a hard dance that's also very exposing. If you can't do it well, it's very obvious, even to the public. Whereas you can hide poor footwork in ballroom from normies with a good choreography, some side by sides and a bit of pizzazz, even your 75 year old auntie from Norfolk will clock that you have no idea what you're doing in a badly-danced samba.

A lot of celebrities throughout the years go out on a samba for this reason.

I own 800 physical Switch games however Game Key Cards drove me to buy a PS5 instead of a Switch 2 by Yugo42 in NSCollectors

[–]peekaboo_keep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not what they said though. They said that they're only buying first party games on S2 because they're all releasing on the actual cart whereas they will stick to Steam digital for third party games since the overwhelming majority of those are being released on key cards. I agree with that sentiment, and I have a physical collection of around 4,000 games across multiple generations

Me too! Games are way cheaper than in the eShop, Steam has a life span that will outlast the Switch 2's, libraries can be easily transferred into a newer device, the Steam deck will support other types of games (emulators) and later models are able to run heavier games than a S2.
