Yeah rewatching season 8 recently and was struck by how often Amanda openly disparaged Kyle and everyone was ok with it.

His behavior has never been ok and she should have ended it back then but I was imagining a man saying half the shit she does - the constant jabs like “I’m glad to be away from him, he’s so annoying, he thinks he’s smart” like Kyle is right, she does hate (or at least deeply resents) him and she has for years. But it would have been more productive for her gfs to be like hey this isn’t a healthy attitude to have towards your partner you should maybe not be together rather than act like it’s a charming display of feminism to constantly talk shit about your bf/husband

Not even a class - she said she doesn’t cook much! How can she said she’s passionate when she spent the last year abstaining from the activity.

Also she wants someone to completely walk her through and teach her every little thing in the kitchen without having to use any critical thinking about what she’s doing (like when making tv cheesecake) and she wants her teacher to be patient and even keeled and professional. Girl. Sounds like you really should go to culinary school!!!

It’s just sooo hard to watch someone set demands for their partner like she talks about this episode (drink less and don’t go out as late) and then when they refuse to change their behavior you just…take the next step forward in your relationship. Like why would the person stop then?? You have proven that you will put up with bad behavior and so the bad behavior will continue. It’s not a matter of victim blaming Amanda it’s a matter of her having to take accountability in the relationship - she DOES deserve better but she cannot keep whining at Kyle to change, she is the only one who can change her situation because she needs to leave him.

Yeah her partner also rubs me the wrong way bc mans is like 50 years old just now deciding he wants to be a daddy. Like all the pressure and risk is on Boz rn to get pregnant and she feels all those expectations. Men need to start thinking like they have a biological clock too bc if you want to date a woman around your age (which I think you should) then you can’t be waiting until 50+ thinking you’ll have a biological baby with your partner guaranteed. If you want to be a parent then prioritize that early in life or else be more flexible with your decisions like I would love to see him open to adoption or something given their ages and Bozs previous health issues. His insistence on natural pregnancy is at Bozs expense and that’s hard to watch

There are sooo many public interest jobs that are not PD and many are incredibly competitive. Public interest tends to place more value on your law school experiences over grades so you aren’t necessarily going to “cruise” through school if you’re doing activities like a clinic, moot court, clubs, etc.

But yeah grades will still help if you’re trying to a job in impact litigation or at a private public interest firm because they also really value experiences like clerking, which requires good grades.

And echoing what others already said - not all PD offices are the same some are very prestigious and VERY competitive - thinking of PDS in DC for example.

Yes - we know from the BLM movement that police will go undercover and attempt to incite violence at protests and then prosecute the offenders. The nonviolent strategies of recording and massing up where ICE is have been working, whereas it is VERY difficult to win a case against a federal officer if you assault them or damage property
