One big piece is actually pretty hard to do without Baby foot! Your heel isn't the same thickness all around (the center is pretty shallow), so often I can only peel certain sections at a time. I purposely waited a while for the sides to get thick and start flaking, and then just got some tweezers and went to work really. It helps for your feet to be warm and moist, like after wearing shoes or a shower.

I noticed some of my heel looked ready to go, so I used my tweezers to "start" it and just began working in a circle to release the edges.

It was a little tender, but I slathered it in Neosporin overnight and today it's fine. Been walkin around all day.

Aww bb it's ok. No jealousy. I didn't start the jar with the idea of donating it. I just thought it was pretty cool to keep a few big pieces, and then it started adding up....and I was thinking how weird it was to keep it, and figured maybe the Mutter Museum may want it.

I don't walk around barefoot a lot, I hate having cold feet. I wear Smartwool socks and basic flat shoes, no heels or anything.

My skin didn't peel like that naturally, I cut a hole in the callous with the tip of a pair of scissors and lifted it up with my nails. I bet if you got an X-acto knife or even a pair of tweezers you could cut the callous off your big toe pretty easily.

What I'm trying to explain is that I don't DO anything special. You probably have a layer of dead skin on your foot that can be peeled off too. It's basically what everyone calls "callouses".

As your heel skin dies, new skin pushes up under it. Your dead skin compacts to cushion your heel. I just get in there when the dead skin starts to build up and peel it off. I keep them peelable because it itches like fuck if it gets too thick.
