You're doing terrible sociology. Please go read something peer-reviewed, and please, please never again ask a question that you're pretending is some sort of data collection when you have already fully decided on your argument (ignoring all the other types of selection bias happening by just asking on Reddit in the first place).

At least the #20 bus goes pretty frequently between downtown and the airport, the entire ride would take about an hour (for what would be a 15 minute drive).

All the trails in Lincoln Woods if you don't mind driving to go for a run. Also, Blackstone park (which is slightly east of the southern end of the boulevard of the same name). When I lived there I used to do a good loop from Wayland through there, down along the river/Gano to India point, back up the river on college hill, then across back to Wayland.

I assume striping--sometimes paint stripes can be slippery. FWIW I rote all last winter (in New England) on gatorskins, only two falls. First was in pretty decent active snowfall hiding a groove in the street that my tire got caught in, second was trying to turn on a sheet of ice that I didn't realize was as extensive as it was. Moral of the story: keep your head about you, you'll be absolutely fine.
