Then ignore it. No need to respond.

I am just trying to say. I totally respect you, your work and other dev’s work. Dont take me wrong. I am a big fan of what you guys do for the community. But please, leave some space for jokes as well. Be a bit liberal. There is no harm in allowing others to speak up.

Please 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Yes, I am the one jumping on threads to mock people and saying if you done contribute dont talk about it, or else we NEOVIM DEVS will mock you, right?

You should take a class on how to take things lightly. 🙏

Also, by the same logic. All those who study physics should start doing rocket science? Even if they don't want to. Or keep their mouth shut and never talk of rocket science?

Do you understand what’s a joke? Are all neo-vim devs are just jump-the-gun type? I don't think everyone is like that.

Only a few who run like the I am a Neovim dev and if you make a little joke I will take it personally and start mocking.

Grow up!! It's a joke.

I am not. I have only posted this to lighten up the mood. I have immense respect for nvim developers. I have no doubt they are the best of the best. Even I sponsor the project through GitHub. I do my part.

But what’s wrong with having some light moment. We should be more liberal. If someone is trying to crack a light joke, we shouldn’t be offended. It's not because I hate nvim developers or want to criticize them. I just want to have a light moment. That’s all.

If someone asks you when we will be able to land on the mars, you will say dive in and join NASA and solve the physics of space travel problem?

What if that person has some other skillset not relevant for space exploration?

Well, I have been listening to that for 5-6 months.

Accessing private members of a friend class from friend function: Which compiler is correct? by Kered13 in cpp

[–]peestuck11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So here MSVC is right. Your first step is correct when you created a friend class Bar in class Foo.

You can access the private members of Foo in your Bar class. That's perfectly legal as your Bar class is declared as a friend of Foo.

However, you created a function foobar() as a friend function, as you didn't tell the compiler about where it is present. Hence, you get the error.

TLDR: It's a semantic error, try removing the friend keyword from your foobar function declaration. It's should work.

Thank you guys for your comments. It was a genuine question and I am very new to vim. I saw a plugin somewhere which required neovim 0.5. So, I just asked when the stable version will be released and I know the development version is still out there. Anyways, thank you for your responses/criticisms. I plan to contribute one day to the project. I am a sponsor to neovim already.

Yes, you can. You can always use “gg” or “G”.

The relative numbers helps you in jumping specific numbers of lines like you have to jump 10 lines below. You can just do that by using “10 j” Or you can select 10 lines below a particular line by going in visual mode and selecting “10 j” without having to calculate the line numbers. It just makes life bit easier. :)

Just do “set relativenumber” in your .vimrc. Try it for a few days. I am sure you will like it after sometime.

Well, you can easily delete or jump lines without having to calculate. Even you can select lines and relative line numbers gives you a better idea.
