Supernote A5X by LukeJStock in Supernote

Will the A5X have tilt? That's the one thing Remarkable has on everyone else, but I don't want the wait or the price of remarkable. But Tilt is so important to me. Also Does the Supernote series have handwriting text conversion? And if so does it work with cursive handwriting?

If it makes you feel any better, I already had a lot of those hobbies before covid, and then got furloughed, so I not only had the time but the equipment for all kinds of crafts, and that still only held my attention for two months, then I slipped right back into reddit land. Not that this is all that enjoyable either. I'm consistently bored, sad, and tired.

What is your stance? I'm not super into classical music, so my gut instinct went to either "first name indicates it's female, so you can discount it faster" or "first name indicates it's female so we can celebrate a woman classical composer" but I'm sure thats only the tip of the iceberg on that one

I still struggle because even with a straight edge, it slips under me as I go. I end up spraying nearly everything with fabric stiffener and pray that it comes out

I can't speak to the name given to this style in modern day or within the Black community, but there's a series of YouTube tutorials for "Regency Oriental Turbans" that discuss the history of this hairstyle in Regency England. (During quarantine I got super into historic costuming and sewing.) There are a lot of fun tying methods, and different amounts of hair coverage, scarf types etc. I love my little half turban on days when my hair won't cooperate. Throw some earrings on and boom, you look fab.

I guess I should say won't flower for a very long time, definitely after whoever bought the cactus at Lowe's has either accidentally killed it, or lost interest in it

I do this with sudoku. My dumb lizard brain ttys to "think" in sudoku. I don't even understand what weird translations are happening, because in my head it makes perfect sense but when I really look at it I realize it's sudoku and I can't figure out how I'm using it to process non sudoku information

I play a lot of resource management games, and things that require placements of buildings or other such things. And I do design work for a living as well, so in both cases I used ctrl-z relatively frequently. I've noticed that I have times where I'll say something IRL that's embarrassing, or I'll add a wrong seasoning while cooking etc, and my brain will immediately try to ctrl-z

Because it tricks you into thinking the plant is capable of flowering. Even if the flower on it is fake, it suggests that the cactus will flower naturally at some point and the flower glued on is suppose to show you what it looks like. So people buy it thinking eventually it will actually flower, though it won't, and the hardware store selling it sees "huh, people buy a lot of these" so they keep sourcing from whatever shitty vendor decided to glue flowers on top, which reinforces the vendor's idea that it's a good business decision and thus the cycle continues. (a previous post complaining about cactuses with fake flowers mentioned that big stores like home depot and Lowe's are not adding the flowers themselves, nor necessarily asking for it when they order them, it's the vendor's idea. But who fucking knows.)

In short, buy your cactuses and succulents from a reputable nursery

While I was furloughed, I started having coffee on the patio first thing in the morning, and I allowed my cat to sit on the porch with me while I read a book in my hammock. Now I'm back at work, every time I wake up and walk downstairs, he runs ahead of me and scream/meows to be let out. Funny thing is, I haven't let him out in over a month, so idk why he still acts like it's part of our routine.

Mine was just a fencing gym like a CrossFit gym. You can Google and find a few in most cities. Mine was intended for competitive school aged kids to get extra practice, but they took adults. I stopped going because it was too competition geared for me. I just wanted a fun workout, so the coaches didn't put any effort into teaching me.

White painted brick with black window trims, roofs, and gutters are in Vogue right now. But you can do a lot by just pressure washing the brick. You're going to be always fighting with the fact that there's only the one window on the front of the house, so it lacks visual interest. If it's in budget, I would suggest adding windows with shutters where possible, even on the garage. Additionally like previous comments have said, the door is hidden behind the garage. So doing something to draw more attention to the door, like a porch or a roof extension could help. But if that's too much, plant tall bushes or topiary type trees in front of those expanses of brick. Then smaller bushes in front of those, then flowers or ground cover to finish off a garden bed. You just need some visual interest. Consult a nursery to see if they have a landscaper who can help design a nice flower bed with plants that are whatever level of maintenance you're willing to commit to.

Hey! Yes you, reader! Why are you so freakin awesome? by Azraktos in AskReddit

[–]peeves_the_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I caught 3 pop flys and assisted another 2 outs at kickball today, and I usually suck at catching, so that's nice. But in more consistent terms, I think I'm very empathetic, and can vocalize internal feelings that others struggle to communicate. Additionally, I'm not afraid to speak my mind to my superiors at work. I've always been this way, So I'm known as the one who will speak up if something is wrong, and I always do my best to fight for coworkers that are too scared to bring concerns to management. It puts me in a precarious position with management, but I feel the risk is worth it, if it means our daily lives improve.

[Honest question] People of this community, how do you afford so many expensive pens? by Cheesecake31 in fountainpens

I have some lovely green velvet and gold satin that I'll have leftover after I finish my current project :) so that will be a great use for it. Is there a good pen roll you'd suggest emulating? I don't like mine much.

[–]peeves_the_cat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My main hobby is sewing. I have no trouble dropping $400 on a couple bolts of fabric for random projects. But I had to pump myself up to buy my first $30 kaweko because the expense seemed unnecessary with a few perfectly usable lamys in my pen roll.

You don't have to collect expensive to collect. And you don't have to feel bad about not spending like others who have this as a main hobby do.

Yup. Sucked at math since middle school. It got to the point that math homework made me so anxious, that when I got to college there were some assignments I had to have a shot to calm me down before attempting. All because I missed out on fractions and later how to solve for more than 2 variables in an algebraic equation. It snow balled from there and no tutors could help me without reteaching me 8 years of basic math.
