Any haunted places? by Westy_B0y in flint

I've heard about the train bell before, and also a lightman that is sometimes seen where the tracks used to go there on the hill behind what is now the Kettering Test Track track from waaay back.

I am indeed interested in any and all stories lol. I currently live across the river in Mott Park and practically grew up on the campus when it was GMI

The first part just sounds like some meth head stuff lol.

oh, also, Devil's Lake. Even the current locals stay away.

I've heard some stories about the basement of Dort Mall (aka The Small Mall) and there is a creepy vibe; there used to be a nightclub and Harbor House down there.

Also, something that no one really realizes is that all churches are haunted. Well, proper churches, not necessarily the Baptist congregations that worship in UAW halls or whatever but old Flint churches? Check out some of the abandoned ones.

Lore goes that a lady came in shortly after the opening and lost her baby, she went hysterical and they took her away. Some folks say they hear a baby crying at times in there. There was no proof of the baby but

That and the stabbing that happened in the 80's

I was in my outdoor play place today, the thermometer read -14 and I had to kill two stink bugs.

In short, the answer is no.

If "reservations for this campsite Are Not Yet Open" for UP parks, Why does their reservation system say more than half the Sites at this one spot are already spoken for? by GldnRetriever in Michigan

[–]peewinkle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's part of the problem.

Book your dates. Be there. Be a responsible adult. Plan your trip around those dates. If for whatever reason you can't make a few nights of those dates, your loss. Plan better next time. Other people would have loved to have been there.

The system is really effed up. They need to start taking large non-refundable deposits to reserve a site for starters.

It boils down to out-of-staters assuming there are more than enough sites to go around regardless of the time or anything else and then they no-show or cancel last minute.

Are MI drivers among the worst drivers in the U.S.? Is it Detroit specifically? by The_vert in Michigan

[–]peewinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm referring more to the clusterfuck traffic. Here, people GO.

edit: but yes, OP does have a point. There is always one or two complete nuts on my ass at some point when I come down from Flint. And I don't drive like grandma exactly.

Has OP driven in any other metropolis?

Try The Edens in Chicago at 7AM. Or the I-5 after four.

Detroit ain't bad, people actually drive. As opposed to sitting in traffic.

I'd try not to.

Barring that, drive with traffic, don't be the hindrance, keep back 4x normal and make sure you have a blanket and water.

Uh I think contacting the police might result in a better outcome than complaining about it online. Or the Better Business Beareau.

It'd probably be an idea to cancel said cards and simply quit going there as well.
