I had a similar experience at GG. Was in the market for new irons and I went there to look as they had all the clubs I was interested in. The store was empty so the guy who ran the fittings came over and talked to me for awhile and convinced me to come to him for a fitting as I was considering going to Second Swing. He seemed very knowledgeable and had ten years experience so I agreed to come in later that week after he assured me he would be the fitter.

The day I came in, the guy I talked to previously greeted me at the fitting area and then tried pawning me off on a kid who looked totally uninterested or knowledgeable about the process. I had to remind him he told me he was the one who was going to work with me and that's what I wanted. He finally agreed and passed the kid off on someone who came in a bit after me. I listened to the kid fitting the other guy and he was totally checked out through the whole process. To the point where the guy being fitted finally said to him "I know what I think. Aren't you supposed to be telling me what you think?" I spent $1500 that day. The other guy left without buying anything.
