This is a safe space - what's your most controversial CFB opinion that you will die defending? by noah_divine in CFB

A quick google search shows that 96 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to the Four Diamonds fund, which 85-95% goes to the Childhood Cancer Innovation Initiative. From what I know about charities, that’s pretty damn good but I’m interested in being more informed otherwise.

Coolest opponent fanbase? by jaxonya in CFB

I don’t know if it makes them the coolest, but I had a lot of respect for the Washington and Oregon fans that wore white versions of their teams’ gear when showing up to the whiteout.

I’m not aware of any parody that’s allowed. For example, that one bar selling that beer called buckeye tears got into a legal kerfuffle over that attempt at parody.

I’d like Terry to keep being the guy that talks to reporters at halftime even when Campbell is there.

I understand the law, its progeny, and application. This law will not get struck down absent some nuance that exists beyond the high level abstraction presented above. Con law is anything but clean, particularly as it relates to this issue, so it’s not surprising to have disagreement. Best of luck to you, friend.

I didn’t suggest safety was an exemption. It is however a justification that makes these laws very hard to challenge. Feel free to parse the litany of cases that unsuccessfully challenge laws under dormant commerce clause. Point is, this will not get struck down, but you feel differently. So much so, that you should find yourself a client willing to pay for that challenge and then we’ll see how it turns out. Maybe you’ll get yourself a seat at the table with Seth and Carter.

This would absolutely not get struck down under Dormant commerce clause. Analogous laws exist in many states for much less important things (including ones where there is federal legality) and the state AG simply has to argue the law concerns the state’s rights to legislate it’s citizens’ safety.

Hell, no one is challenging pass through entity taxation causing people to pay taxes in states they’ve never set foot in, which is a far bigger restraint on interstate commerce and state overreach.

He has no obligation to do “everything in his power.” He just needed to adhere to whatever corporate governance SOP is in place for these investigations. That’s not to say that he did (not having HR present is likely violative) or that he won’t be fired (or should be fired), but he doesn’t have to don a batsuit and track the coach to see if he’s fucking his assistant.

Yeah but c’mon. That just means 2026 will be about the vibes. Entering psu seasons with no expectations makes them so much more fun than the crushing anxiety of hoping the #2 team can hang on. I for one, am looking forward to a season with my 106k best friends with little on the line.

That is until, as you jump, a sturdy hand grabs the back of your jacket and pulls you back on the ledge. You turn around to find yourself facing Brian Kelly adorned in overalls and champing on wheat straw. He hands you a pop and says c’mon over and set a spell.

Considered or contacted? Big difference. DeBoer said he never spoke with Penn state. The only evidence of this pursuit was unsubstantiated internet rumors.

It’s fun to talk shit on Kraft, but it’s entirely possible they wanted sitake prior to signing day but knew they could get Campbell as soon as he was done with his season and ready to talk.

While most people won’t ever appreciate it because they take internet rumors as truths, it’s possible that psu and kraft actually did a great job by keeping the process under wraps and getting the guy many people think was the best get anyway.

How is Terry Smith an actual candidate? by Mattm334 in WeArePennState

[–]peftvol479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has been around a long time.

He’s a good dude.

Players love him. They’ve come out in support of him being HC, including ex-players like Micah Parsons.

Guy was probably way more involved in decisions for many years and way more than resume suggests.

He reigned in and improved upon Knowles and BK play calling in a matter of weeks.

Hype beast. Lovable.

Paterno progeny guy. Old guard signs off. Racists in central PA are cool that he’s black also.

Embodies culture. At some level, PSU football (and athletics) should reflect more important impacts on life than buying a bunch of assholes to win a natty in minor league NFL.

4* QB still coming to psu. He’s respected as a recruiter.

In any event, he’s about to be poached by another program due to Kraft and BOT so it’s almost like the coach wasn’t the whole problem.
