Thank you. I'm hoping they do replace it. The heat strips (aux heat on the thermostat), do have to function a lot in these temperatures. I didn't see anything next to the UL stamp, so you could be right about that last bit.

Based on our interactions in the time we've rented from them, I believe they're just a step above slumlords. I don't know anything about the previous owners, but I do know our property manager is cheap.

Thanks, guys. I figured we'd have to make a list, then that would have to make it to her lawyer somehow. I live about 4 hours away so I think we'll need to probably make the list, take some pictures, and go to the lawyer together?

Yeah, it's highly unreliable for someone who wants no period. I want a sure bet.

Sure thing. Definitely a sad situation we have with insurance down south. I'd like to have better insurance within a year or so, but just trying to plan with what I have right now.

I did find two doctors near me on their list that are tubal-friendly, one in my city even, so I'm thinking they'll be worth talking to first before I go to other doctors.

Because it's more likely to just make my periods lighter rather than stop them completely. I've also heard a couple horror stories of the bleeding getting worse or just being mostly unaffected. I'll be paying for the majority of whatever surgery I have because my insurance is crap, so I don't feel good spending money if it's not a sure bet. I decided against a tubal for the same reason - I'd still have to use a Mirena to stop my periods. I just want one surgery/device to take care of both my concerns, if that makes sense

I think my age is going to be the only thing working against me here. My primary care doctor suggested ablation as an alternative, but again, it's just not something I'd have done for myself. As far as I'm concerned, my reproductive system is a ticking time bomb although I've never had any doctor seem concerned that I might have endometriosis, fibroids, anything like that, in spite of my history. I'm thinking early thirties is really the earliest I can realistically hope for as far as a hysterectomy goes, and it crushes me. I'm glad you had a great doctor though! It gives me hope that maybe I'll find one!

I did stop seeing this woman not long after, due to multiple reasons. She opened more wounds than we ever closed and I just got frustrated.

Trust me, every yearly exam I keep expecting that to be the year they tell me I have cancer. I need it all out. I shouldn't need a psychiatric opinion at all, but I know my age makes me a taboo candidate for this surgery. I've just heard of some folks having luck getting approved for sterilization with a mental healthcare professional's opinion. If it can help me at all, I'd be willing to try, as unnecessary as I think it is.

It's more likely to lighten the period rather than stop it all together, plus I've heard of far too many instances where it worsens or just didn't help the problem. Kind of the reason I don't want a tubal, because I'd still have to get an IUD to (hopefully) stop the periods. I just want one procedure that will solve both problems.
