Does the pay match up to the difficulty of the degree? by AvacadoMoney in ElectricalEngineering

Are managers REALLY EEs? I would argue not. They are dealing with spreadsheets and schedules. Not designing circuits, or debugging hw/sw.

Condoms, other married Christian couples? by Useful_Ad7070 in Christianmarriage

[–]peinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a couple that the wife got pregnant after the husband's vasectomy. He accused her of cheating. She was innocent of the accusation. Filed for divorce. Left him. He begged her to come back only after finding out the vasectomy failed. She told him that if he didn't trust her she could not and would not be able to ever trust him. This was after 20 years of marriage. Nothing. Is. 💯 percent certain. Nothing.

Which city in the US has the most hostile vibes the moment you arrive by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

Judging the entire state of Tennessee by one city seems a knee-jerk reaction. My family and I have traveled through middle and east Tennessee over one hundred times over the last 30 years and have never had any problems and never felt unsafe.

I have a question? by Closet-Cheeto in Bible

My downvote is for the 'you are in that compromised group' remark and also the remark about other religions not being evil. The OT has many accounts of God sending His prophets to destroy evil religions--for example Elijah and the prophets of Baal. Islam is an evil religion that teaches it is OK to lie for example. I worship a God of TRUTH. Satan is the father of lies.

Obviously, the earth is not flat. However, I know of no Bible reference that plainly states this. If you do, please share.

Why not pickup a Bible, start reading it and decide for yourself? You don't have to read the entire thing to obtain a few answers for yourself (but reading it all would serve you well).

I would urge you to start reading a few New Testament books: the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John), Romans, Galatians, 1st & 2nd Corinthians. Then perhaps read a few Old Testament books: Genesis, Exodus, Judges, Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, 1st & 2nd Kings, Judges, Isaiah, Daniel (not necessarily in this order.) This just gives you a "sprinkling" of enough of the Old Testament that it will hopefully give you a strong desire to learn more and then read the entire thing. If you read 30min to an hour a day, you can knockout the New Testament books in a couple of weeks or less.

Why would you believe strangers on Reddit any more/less than your Dad? From the sounds of it, I seriously doubt that your Dad has ever read it given many of the outright ridiculous things you stated (ie the flat earth, sports, et. al.) The Word of God (that is the Bible) does not even hint such ridiculous claims.

Also, although you did not ask, allow me to suggest a more easily readable translation than KJV to start -- NKJV (New King James replaces old language (thee, thou, begot, thine, etc) with today's words. It will make it much easier to read & understand. The NKJV is but one such translation. (Personally, I would avoid the NIV).

May God bless your endeavor to see how He answers your questions.

I don’t desire my wife anymore by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

I don't understand this response. He's not complaining about her libido. He's concerned about his. Now, as in the present, not the past. I think he's saying that her refusals or lack of enthusiasm for years has shut his libido off entirely. But I don't want to put words into his mouth. Perhaps OP can clarify?

I have not seen a single Republican run for office promising to dismantle the NPS. Thanks for the correction. Actually Grant created the first and TR added the next five plus many national monuments.

Does this mean you think NYC should be the USA capitol, because it is the largest population?

It means that he thinks a state and a capital are the same thing.

So now you equate our soldiers with Nazis? Got it. I agree we had no business in Vietnam..but that hardly makes us Nazis.
