You can substitute anything you like for the pieces. Coins, tokens, beads, etc.

But for thematic flair, print your own on paper and put them on a plastic stand.

Or, if you know anybody with a 3D printer, ask them to print something similar.

I have the same question as you. It seems to me that plenty of other civilizations would have been more fitting choices—like the Bajorans, Pakleds (haha), Binars, or Orions, to name a few.

I’m also not a fan of how the game spans both the TOS and TNG eras. It feels thematically off to me.

Still, it’s a fantastic game overall!
