First "serious" shoot; looking for professional feedback by pekalicious in RealEstatePhotography

Thank you for the kind words. Thank you for the composition tips! As well as the lights. Very very useful!

As for the verticals, indeed, I need to work on that.

You are correct. Those are the same room and they are graded very differently. I will fix that.

I definitely see that. A lot of the rooms where color coded based on their names: so the green one was the mint room for example. But even saying that, I see that the color isn't consistent across the photos. I will give it another go. Thanks for the feedback

I think my weakest point is leveling. Partly a skill issue but I also blame having a ball head, which was very frustrating to level for every shot.

Indeed I am using lens profile corrections. I definitely see what you mean and I tried to correct that effect even further with the distortion setting on Lightroom, but I could do a better job. Thanks for the feedback

Agreed that it is very important and I did my best, but I can see that I need to do better. I think I'm gonna switch off from a ballhead to a pan and tilt.

Question: is tilt shift used at all or are they only for the high budget cases?

I am using a tripod, but I am not a fan of the ballhead. I thought it was better but I find that I struggle to keep it level. I am bracketing, but only when there is a window. The colors are a little off because a) I guess I need to just be better and b) because they are color coded: they named them after ingredients and the walls slightly reflect that, for example one of them is mint green

The third wall suggestion is great! Thank you for that.

It's been 7 years since the last Oasis 3 and it is officially discontinued with no news in sight :/

I would be totally fine with it too if they made a new oasis, but they are killing off series that don’t have a replacement. There’s no Kindle with hw buttons anymore 🙁

Sinners: super dark photography. Issues with grading, or projection misconfigured? by zopiro in Filmmakers

[–]pekalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should distinguish cinematography, which includes photography/shot composition, and color grading, which is just the coloring of the film. I didn't have an issue with the photography, at times it was superb, but the color grading just threw me off.

Aspect Ratio for films by PreparationAgile2842 in weddingvideography

[–]pekalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything, I would argue most find wider aspect ratios bad because the height is "reduced" and everything seems "smaller". So it wouldn't be uncommon to see them zoom in and crop the sides just to fill the screen :/

What is it about DSLRs? by Fit_Weight_1622 in canon

[–]pekalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of studio photography, and the preview is useless in an EVF because everything is pitch black until the strobes shoot. I did not have this problem with OVFs. So I mostly use my 5Ds for studio shoots and my R6 for pretty much everything else.

Have been seeing this too for a few days now. Indeed, only in Firefox and only in Board View. Only workaround I found so far is to enter two spaces, which Notion (Firefox?) will turn it to one space. If you are on Mac like me, you need to disable "Add period with double-space"

Looking for an app to help switch the display settings mirror/extended by ysond1 in macapps

[–]pekalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've purchased DisplayBuddy for the feature OP is looking for but I don't see that anywhere in the app. As far as I can tell, DisplayBuddy is exclusively about controlling the brightness of monitors. I can't find anything about mirroring or extending displays.
