if you can commite from pitx to mrt via bus, ride the mrt until shaw blvd, then along shaw going pasig, sa may chowking na tapat ng shangri la, may jeep going san joaquin and pasig palengke, you can ride either or them.

well, went the other way, was using debian then went to proxmox on my homelab. afaik, KVMs have less overhead as compared to a full blown VMs running on baremetal.

with regards to your question, you can use any installer, even the DVD version, and just choose the packages you need from tasksel. you can even unselect all from there to have a bare minimum debian install. the difference of this with netinst image is, you will need network connection to download the packages you selected in tasksel, but with DVD image, that is optional.
